will the soviets have the same "fortress" feature for, say, Leningrad or Sevastopol?

Are there different terrain types in the game? I mean it's all desert war, is there something like forest and stuff?

I just want to try it's editor in the future in order to create some mods, but they will be about eastern siberia, so a desert is not something I need [:D]
