RE: Confusion

<t> Thank you Hubert. It helped a great deal as I was able to locate the scripts for all of the units I saw appearing. <br/>
<br/>
Frankly in the game I was playing I was not so concerned with the appearance of additional units as much as the advanced research level the units had. Having just ...

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.<br/>
<br/>
I too thought that I just didn't properly understand what the graphs mean. Having just completed a game as Allies I just can't understand how both USA and USSR can invest so quickly in research ...

<t> Thank you again for the response. <br/>
So "Some<br/>
scripted events will also only occur at the higher<br/>
difficulty levels, as a way of providing a greater<br/>
challenge to skilled players." explains the additional units. Thanks for that explanation<br/>

<t> Thank you for your reply.<br/>

The units that appear in my game are not event-based. Zhukov headquarters appears September 2 (a fighter appears the same date) and another headquarters appears October 16, both well before arrival of units from Siberia. The Siberian arrival does have the ...

Confusion

<t> I have played War in Europe against the computer using an earlier version. I enjoyed games as both Axis and Allies. I recently downloaded the latest version and completed one game as Allies at veteran setting but lowered experience bonus to + .5 and MMP to+ 5%. I am currently Axis at the same ...

Thank you for the response and suggestion. At this point that option isn't available. Briefly I invaded South France just east of Toulon using two US TF's. Newly arriving units from Africa allowed me to take Toulon in 3 turns on the same turn I invaded North France from ...

fortified port cities

<t> I am having trouble attacking fortified port cities that have 2 or 3 German divisions. I have them surrounded and cut off supply while causing 100% bomb damage to city port and manpower. I have tried to intercept air transport but don't know if that works. I would think that after a couple of ...

red army mobilization

Playing 39 campaign as Allies. After the Axis attack Russia the Red Army Mobilization was incomplete. Specifically: 1 Rifle Corps, 1 Mechanized Corps, 1 Fighter and 1 Tactical Bomber at Siauliai did not appear.

RE: disappearing reinforcements

<t> Thank you for the quick reply and information. I should have noted that the two full divisions I expected on turn 50 were Finnish. However I do see some minor Axis units on the east front: Norway, Latvia, Croatia. And turn 51 am due a full Hungarian Hussar division. Would I be safer to assume at ...

<t> Playing the 43-45 campaign as Germans with east box checked. Having difficulty controlling east front VP losses to some degree because reinforcements do not show up. RE: Air groups get poorly replenished

Playing Axis in 43 start campaign. Have some air groups with 0 planes (40 pilots) for several turns yet the pool has over 160 planes. Supply to air base is high yet no planes. Is there any way to get planes from the pools?

RE: AI- ??

<t> I agree with countrboy that the historical setup, number and strength of units should not be changed. But historical accuracy ends at setup. It is not followed in head-to-head, and should not be followed against the computer. As many have suggested give us versions of varying difficulty based on ...

RE: AI- ??

<t> I am in complete agreement with you. In my opinion historical accuracy ends at setup. If my actions as commander don't follow historical events why should the computer?<br/>

If the scenario designer insists on historical outcome then at least we should know ahead of time and the ...

RE: AI- ??

Frankly, I am not sure how to respond. Why do we play historical war games? We know what happened, who won, and who lost. If the computer AI is designed to follow the actual battle events, strategy, and tactics for historical accuracy, then what is the point of playing.

<t> First,I am sorry. I did not intend to be critical or complaining. I was just adding to the AI thread with my experience based on a single scenario.<br/>

Second, I appreciate historical accuracy and the difficulty a designer has in being accurate while creating a challenging game.<br ...
