Re: Community needs an official Scenario making guide.

Thanks for finding that Guide by Klemme. The checklist at the end was a good idea. I know it is somewhat out of date but it would be worth editing it to bring it up to date. It is a bit above my skill level but I am happy to help if any one wants to run with it.

Terrain Graphics Question

When I combine Swamp and Badlands the result only shows the Swamp graphic. It doesn't matter if I put the Swamp before the Badlands or vice versa. Is there an easy fix to this. It is not a matter of drawing a new graphic as this combines two of them (Like Forest and Hills)

Don't forget like the New York governor did that Canada is a member of NATO. The scenario could get very interesting very quickly.

Re: Help with a map resource

Back again. Got another challenge for you. This time I am looking for the topographic 1:300000 Zusammendruk RS41-42 map of northern Greece.

Help with a map resource

I am looking for digital copy of the topographic 1:300000 Zusammendruk TU-47 map of northern Transylvania. I normally get my copies from Berkely but they don't seem to have this one. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Soviet Cities by population - the top 60

With regards to the 4,000 limit; I keep track of it with an excel spreadsheet. It is also a good place to store the populations of each town as I research them. I think you will still have to pick and choose. The German 1939 census alone indicates over 700 towns and cities with a population of 10,00...

Re: Soviet Cities by population - the top 60

You could also try the town or location name in brackets over the hex. Saves the graphic for something more important. Probably worth talking to the map maker for D21 / 41. That's 10km. See how they reasoned it out. I have a hex overlay map at 10km for all of Europe and North Africa if it is any use...

Re: Soviet Cities by population - the top 60

Does anyone have rules or advice besides looking at population size? Are you using the 1:300,000 German maps from WW2? The better ones have a wealth of detail on the smaller towns and villages. Scale is everything. An urban village in a 5km scale may well be insignificant in a 10km scale. Does the ...

Another scenario question relating to scale.
Going with the 6.5 km scale: At what population point does "Urban" become "Dense Urban"?

Re: A question on scale

Thanks Lobster. I am looking at a 1942 scenario. I really enjoy playing D41, but I want more. Playing TOAW is the bestest hobby. I am retired with way too much time on my hands. TOAW stuff fills that niche.

Ok. I have digested that. Next question. Could you get away with doing FitE at 6.5km?

A question on scale

I have become curious as to why different scales were chosen for scenarios. FitE2 uses a 6km scale which is about 3.73 miles. D21 and 41 use a 10km scale which is about 6.21 miles. TGW uses a 25km scale which is about 15.53 miles. Given our large U.S contingent; why aren't more scenarios scaled at 8...

Hexthingy Upgrade

G'day everyone. You may be aware of a thing called hex thingy that puts a hex grid on Google Earth toe assist with the creation of scenario maps. One of the limitations of Google Earth used to be there was only one layer. Google Earth have upgraded their act and there are now heaps of layers to suit...

Re: Playtesters needed for WWI scenario

In your scenario are the Central Powers locked into attacking France before Russia? This has always been a source of frustration for me as the whole course of the war hinges on who the Central Powers attack first.
