RE: Ship retreating makes no sense

<t> I don't think ships should retreat, it never made any sense. Unless your task force has a significant speed advantage over your opponent, it is not even possible. Many ships in the process of being sunk would have loved to retreat, but it is not a realistic option. <br/>

RE: Flipping Norway?

<r> There is very little you can do about this initially, but once Norway belongs to Germany and the convoy route changes, a maritime bomber will drive away the Royal Navy. You will get 2 attacks on Royal Navy ships every turn, and your opponent will end up spending more to replace his ships then he ...

RE: Tournament wrap

The ELO Rankings are updated as of today.

We still have a few games going, I will continue to monitor and update as required.

Overall tournament record is 44 Axis vs 44 Allies, 1 draw.

RE: PBEM Etiquitte?

<r> If you want more than one turn per day, it is helpful to play someone in your own hemisphere. Players on opposite sides of the world rarely get in more than one turn a day, unless one of the players keeps an odd schedule. Matches can take as little as 2 weeks, or they can drag on for months ...

RE: New players perspective on Axis and questions

<t> I don't know anyone who plays this game who, after a few matches, could not completely outclass the AI. The game is not too hard, you just need a little more seasoning. Stick with it, and you will shortly obliterate the AI even on the hardest settings. So much so, that you will end up seeking ...

RE: newbie questions thread

Being that your questions are about Fall Weiss and not the base game, your best chance at getting answers to these kinds of detailed questions is to send a PM to crispy131313, who created the mod.

I don't think anyone else knows Fall Weiss well enough to answer these accurately.

<t> I think is time to wrap up the New Official Strategic Command War in Europe tournament.<br/>

Only a handful of players are still playing, most active players seem to be seeking games outside the tournament. <br/>

Accordingly, anyone who wants to start a new tournament match ...

RE: Iraq

<t> This must have happened early in the match, I wonder how many diplo chits your opponent bought to make that happen. If one, they just got lucky. If more, they must have sacrificed a critical tech or aircraft purchase to do it. <br/>

RE: 1939 start Axis timelime

<r> The historical time line you lay out is pretty standard, but it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If France falls in June, there is plenty of time to try something interesting before you launch Barbarossa. You could take the remainder of France, try to take Egypt, or even launch a ...

<t> As far as Spain goes, I did have my investment maxed, and I think I got 3 hits over a year, the largest of which was 17%. This left Spain around 80%, with the US about to join, so I thought my chance had passed.<br/>
