RE: Fall Weiss II - WIE 7.3 - (Ready for Download)

<t> Crispy,<br/>
Really enjoying Fall Weiss II.<br/>
The interaction between subs & destroyers seem much more realistic & causes the subs to hide somewhat, which is good.<br/>
Also the new decisions, which I'm sure took a lot of time & effort, really makes one think.<br/>
I like other changes ...

RE: Old Subject: Japanese need their own victory conditions

<t> These are my suggestions to everyone posting:<br/>
<br/>
1) Read the manual and the strategy guide very carefully.<br/>
2) Don't ask questions that are covered in the guides.<br/>
3) Play the game.<br/>
4) Everyone understands what this thread is talking about.(If YOU do or YOU don't ...

RE: Zone of Control(zoc) for naval units

Thanks for your reply[:)]. It motivated me to look more closely in the manual.
I believe the answer to my question is not concerning ZOC but rather Surprise Encounters (p105) & sub movement(p117-118).
That helps a lot.

Zone of Control(zoc) for naval units

<t> I always appreciate everyone's help with this great game.<br/>
I understand ZOC for land units pretty well.<br/>
However, I don't understand ZOC for naval units.<br/>
It seems that some units can attack and move away while others are stuck next to the attacked unit.<br/>
Is there some ...

RE: Great Britain surrender

Wow!
Lucked into that one!
So if you can pull it off, it sure is worth a try to capture those cities at the same time in order to get rid of England with all of its ships, etc.
I guess, one question is, do we want this to happen?

Great Britain surrender

Playing against AI, Great Britain surrendered after sea lion & London & Manchester fell. They didn't move it's capitol & they gave up all it's ships , Malta, convoy routes, etc.
Is that what normally happens? Seemed pretty easy to accomplish.

RE: raider mode ?

So in a round about way, I am back to my original question:
Is there any disadvantage in keeping a surface ship in raider mode all the time unless you actually don't want to raid a convoy route.

RE: raider mode ?

Just to be clear:
If a surface ship is sailing in the open seas and not raiding a convoy route, does it use supply or does a ? appear to show location.
If not then a ship could be in raider mode with no effect if it is on the open seas.
correct?[:)]

raider mode ?

After thinking about it & looking in the manual, I don't know why a surface ship would not be kept in raider mode. Is there some disadvantage I don't know about?
Please tell. Thanks.

RE: Naval War Mod glitches

<t> I just wanted to add that I really like many of the aspects of the naval mod, especially the fact that subs are a bit easier to defend & destroy and carrier TF's are more powerful. Also the units have different strengths which is how it should be, IMO.<br/>

RE: What countries do you let AI control?

<t> Thank you for your replies.[:)] I was not thinking of a multiplayer game. I'm trying to get the hang of the game and so I was playing myself vs the AI. I was just wondering if there are some countries on your side that would be best to handle yourself and those that the AI could handle. In my ...

At the intermediate level are there certain countries that you find are best not to let the AI control?<br/>

Newbie question: air movement

Silly question I suppose but how do you move aircraft( bombers, etc) more than 3 or 4 spaces.
Surely Bombers should be able to fly from USA to Europe or some place in between.
