RE: Bumping inot the Royal Navy

<t> One thing that is now obvious in retrospect (i.e., it took me a long time to realize this), is that any air unit can do recon. Just select a hex in the ocean within the unit's range and send it on the mission. It will reveal any ships along its path. <br/>
<br/>
Note that if the hex is within ...

RE: naval game has me stumped

<t> Hubert,<br/>
Yes, that is what happens. The old strategic command did it too. I just assumed it was added to make the AI stronger (which it obviously does). <br/>
<br/>
I had always wondered why the AI's carrier attacks were so potent, until I discovered this.<br/>

I play with FOW, so ...

RE: naval game has me stumped

<t> One thing to realize is that one of the advantages the AI player has in carrier warfare is that it gets to instantly <br/>
recharge its air complement before sending its 2nd attack. <br/>
<br/>
Hence, even if you shoot down all or most of its planes in the first attack, it can attack with a ...

Avgard - thanks for the confirmation.

I really like the game despite that it was originally published quite a while ago.

RE: Movement Question

Go thru the tutorials and the videos. Initially, I did just the tutorials and I didn't realize how valuable the videos would be. So when avgard says "all", it includes the videos. (They work on Windows 10, but I needed to start them from the game directory, not the game's menu).

RE: why forces lose battles

I agree. If Treefrog is still reading this forum in 2019, I thank him greatly. I had had the game on my shelf for a while (it had been on another PC that died). His posts were invaluable in getting me started with the game. I was very happy it works on Windows 10 without problems.

RE: Movement Question

<t> Hi Yogi,<br/>
It's hard to diagnose your problem. If you are just getting into the game, consider making it really easy, i.e., in addition to selecting "easy" as the difficulty, you can type in numbers to make it even easier. <br/>
<br/>
I used this approach because I initially had trouble ...

Production at Chicago

<t> Chicago has factories and people, but it appears it can only produce supply. Is this correct? Is there a way to make it produce artillery? <br/>
<br/>
(Thanks to all of the old posts. They've helped me greatly. It was initially hard to get into the game, but your advice made it much smoother ...
