Re: Paratroop range

I can think of at least two historical examples of long range paratroop drops in World War II - German invasion of Crete and Operation Market Garden. Both of those were high risk attempts to drop Para units way behind enemy lines in places where the enemy weren't expecting it - or at least according ...

Re: RE: Editor Questions for Custom Scenario

Hi Bill - I've finally continued with this project and it's really coming along nicely. A 30 turn scenario you can play in about an hour. I've got lots more play testing and AI to program yet, but mostly done.

One thing I was not able to get any viable solution for, is that I'd like a popup event ...

Editor Questions for Custom Scenario

<t> Hi, I'm kind of new to the whole modding thing. I've created a simple scenario - not a whole campaign, just a 30-turn single battle. This is a Napoleonic era battle, the Battle of Dresden, and I've almost got it ready to go. There's a couple of things I'd still like to modify. I see plenty of ...

RE: BETA-Tournament. Problems.

<t> Rats! Still not working! Don't know if it will help the troubleshooting, but I do get the 'Downloading..." then "Unpacking..." messages before the Error message. I desperately want to help you figure this out, not just so I can play the game but from my own perspective as a future game developer ...

RE: BETA-Tournament. Problems.

Thanks Hubert, I tried those steps but it still did not work. I also tried launching from Steam and direct Shortcut, I also uninstalled/reinstalled the game, and verified the integrity of game files. Did a full system shutdown/restart, repeated the file copy process but still the same error.

RE: BETA-Tournament. Problems.

<t> Hubert, I'm having the same issue trying to play my turn in the tournament. I got the same error message, I tried what you suggested above, weird thing is even though my main game screen shows version 1.08.1, there is no "v1.08.01" directory in the path shown in your message. There are ...

RE: What Should I Title This Mod?

<t> I also just thought of "Stalin's Blind Spot"...I imagine your mod is taking a spin on how Stalin was able to basically "ignore" the Japanese as a threat and instead use all those forces against Germany. I think it would be interesting to see how this would pan out differently each time you run ...

RE: Mini Game Or Campaign

<t> I like both, it kind of depends on how much time I'm willing to invest [:)]since the campaigns can go many, many turns. Right now I'm working in the Editor on creating some of my own individual battles. The first which I hope to have ready to post soon is a quick playing (30 turn) mod based on ...

RE: MOD Terrain Questions

<t> Answering my own questions...1) Turns out I need to pay more attention to the "Action Points" [:D]although I'm not quite sure why some units will begin their turn with less than their full amount of points? Related to terrain, morale, supply or something else? 2) My brainstorm for using regular ...

MOD Terrain Questions

<t> I'm working on some custom campaigns, and I'm curious about how certain terrain features work in the game: specifically, roads and rivers.<br/>
<br/>
1) Roads - there doesn't seem to be any way that I can find to implement road movement, that is, units seem to move according to the terrain in ...

RE: Action Points in Mods

<t> Thank you Elessar2. I actually discovered it "by accident" of course a few hours after I sent that message, when I was looking around in Combat Target Data for other values. I'm still learning the intricacies of the editor. Sometimes all I have to do is ask a question, and the answer finds its ...

Action Points in Mods

<t> Hi, I am playing around with some custom campaign designs. I was wondering if there is a way to edit the Action Points for specific units? I'm trying to create a Napoleonic era battle, and I want to emphasize the difference in Cavalry versus Infantry units of the time, particularly in their ...

RE: The Rise and Fall Of An Empire!

<t> Hi Kirk, I'm VERY interested in helping or continuing your Napoleonic project, I'm really into that era and how it could be adapted to the SC series of games. I was working on just a simple recreation of the Battle of Dresden, 1813 when I stumbled across your work in this forum. It looks like it ...
