Re: Replay suggestion for developer

Taxman66,

I assume you want something that you can permanently set before the replay starts and which will remain on for the whole replay -- rather than using the mouse wheel to zoom in and out as desired at various points during the replay?

For myself, I'd be OK with this as an OPTION, but not as ...

Re: SC WWII WiE - Update v1.30.00

Hey all,

Any ETA on when this "PBEM++ server communication error" is going to be resolved? It's been something like 15 hours now.

Re: Save Point

El_Condoro,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I think that that is beyond my technical abilities. I think I could get the tech levels set (and maybe a few other things), but not the units, their experience levels, and location (etc.).

Re: Options for Game End Dates

El_Condoro,

We did that. Disable Game End was selected by my opponent. But the game just ended on the May 19, 1947 turn.

I don't know if this is connected, but there was no last ten turns warning "countdown" in this game either (as we have experienced in the past). The game just ended.

It was a ...

Save Point

Hey all,

Here is another idea I have been mulling over lately.

Has there ever been consideration for adoption of a "save point" option in SC? I think it might be fun -- at least occasionally -- to play a multiplayer game to, say, the start of Barbarossa and then save your game. You could then, for ...

Options for Game End Dates

Hey all,

I have been playing the SC-WiE "Fall Weiss 9.1" mod a lot lately. And I have some questions:

(i) Am I correct in saying that the absolute latest the game can go is the end of the May 19, 1947 turn?

(ii) Is there any way that the game can be set to go "forever?"

(iii) Has there ever been ...

Hey all,

No bug. Turns out I just can't count. D'oh! Next time, I'll use my fingers AND toes.

Still, thanks for the quick responses!!!

Re: Problem with US Transports

El_Condoro,

Thanks. I am waiting for my opponent to respond so I can see the file. I am beginning to think I "forgot" one or more transports in the Red Sea or Persian Gulf loops. That might have led me to miscalculate the number of transports available. Probably doesn't help that I did the turn ...

Re: Problem with US Transports

Platoonist,

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have other US transports at sea, but I don't think I was at the transport limit. I am, for example, pretty sure I loaded a different US unit at a different port AFTER I encountered this problem. But then again, there was a lot going on last turn and so I ...

Problem with US Transports

Hey all,

Playing the Fall Weiss II -- WIE 9.1 scenario in Strategic Command: War in Europe and had an issue come up.

In my game, I have captured Corsica and Sardinia from the Axis. I have held the islands for a number of turns now and the port cities of Ajaccio (Corsica) and Cagliari (Sardinia ...

Two (Possible) Bugs and a Suggestion

Dear Tech Support,

I'm playing the Fall Weiss II -- WIE 9.1 mod and I thought I would mention a few things.

(i) I had a German HQ "double attach" to a unit recently. This used to be an annoyingly regular issue in one of the early versions of the game (maybe SC II -- Weapons and Warfare although I ...

Connection Error -- v1.28.00 versus v1.29.00

Dear Tech Support,

Went to play a turn this morning, but am getting a "connection error" pop-up when I try to connect to the server. Error says "PBEM++ Online server requires version 1.28.00 in order to continue" but when I checked the games landing page I see that I have the v1.29.00 patch ...

Re: Connection Error 6 Sorry You are not logged in

Hey all,

Let me join some former opponents in saying "me as well" for this error. I might also note that this error is arising with other Matrix products that I have tried to access today.

No doubt the "powers that be" are now well aware of this problem. I am joining the post mostly so that I can ...

Re: Possible Bug?

Matrix Games,

Yes, and it is not just happening in empty terrain.

In a PBEM game, one of my German tank units took the Russian city of Geogiyevsk (in the far south). I pulled the unit back to the north with the intent of force marching a corps into the newly captured town but was unable to do that ...

Bugs in the Fall Weiss II -- WIE 8.3 Mod

Hey all,

I am playing the Fall Weiss II -- WIE 8.3 mod and have found a couple of bugs during a game with a much higher-than-usual level of activity in the far north of the map (i.e., in Norway). I am not sure if they are Mod-specific or more general, so I thought I would post them here.

First, I ...

RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe v1.24.00

<t> Dear Matrix Games,

I have a couple of ongoing games. They both employ one of the Mods I found through this site.

Today, I went to play some turns (after a week's delay), but when I opened the game, I got two pop-ups. The first said:

Connection Error. PBEM ...

Strategic Bombers vs. Land Units (i.e., Carpet Bombing)

<t> Hey all,

I have a question.

Strategic bombers can be very effective against ground units -- especially as the war progresses. They replicate the tactical use of these aircraft to "carpet bomb" enemy positions quite nicely. Think Operation Cobra or the attack on Caen in ...

RE: Subsequent Surrender Suggestion

<t> PvtBenjamin,

The reason I suggested exempting a para drop is that occasionally there will be a game where your air units nuke a garrison on Paris, you drop an airbourne unit on the city, and suddenly France is "liberated." And while liberating France may be a longer-term goal, it ...

RE: Rebuilding Bonus Units

<t> The Land,

OK, so sounds like it is a software issue more than anything.

One idea. Why not use one of the "empty" slots in the force pool. In much the same way that you have Heavy Tanks unavailable until such and such a date, your second batch of "bonus" AT units would ...
