I've been toying with an idea to try and model sci-fi warfare in TOAW IV, and for that I'd need to learn equipment modding. I've found a document on the subject in the game files, but it's very far from comprehensive and uses software that I'm not sure is still available. Do any other guides, tips ...

Thanks for the advice, really appreciated! But how exactly do you add new troop types? If I wanted, say, to include helicopters as a troop type, how would I have to go about it?

In order not to start a new topic for a simple question, I'll ask here: are the troop types (infantry, artillery, inf. guns etc.) hardcoded or is it possible to change their behaviour or make new ones?
