Re: Airbase bombing and interception

I have been playing WITE 2 since it's inception and played WITE 1. One of the "old guard" so to speak. Beethoven is one of the more brilliant players who has spent countless hours not only trying to master the game, but really care that WITE 2 is successful. To arrogantly dismiss his feedback is not ...

Albert .. I was not proposing that is how the game works .. I was proposing that is how the game should work ... decisions with risks and benefits.

Re: Panzers lose more tanks in retreat than in a route

This appears to be a problem where the probability density function [PDF] of the retreat results crosses well over the PDF for rout. So an extreme result on retreat is worse than some random rout result, which is unexpected for the user. This might be working as designed, but is quite unaligned with ...

Re: How much difference does it make to micro the Air war?

Yeah. I have come to the conclusion that for the Germans GA is not worth the planes after turn 1; I don't know about interdiction it might be useful in the first couple of turns to slow the Russian retreat don't know. Once the lines are established around turn 4 GA is not worth the price the ...

CPP Costs

I realize that CPP costs Works as Designed. But I might suggest that there is a problem with the design from a game standpoint.

The CPP costs for attacking and defending are fixed. This leads to predictable behaviors. Once a game is predictable it is no longer a game. A la tic-tac-toe .. The ...

Re: Fix or Improve your combat - My suggestion and others.

The interactions might be even more complex.

After leadership die rolls and determination of early withdrawal vs "scout" stuff. The firepower works by starting out the engagement at a range and then the devices and squads that can exchange pleasantries at that range engage in combat. GS happens ...

Leningrad

Something to think about if an historical feel is a goal of WITE 2. Leningrad is not an ordinary dense urban combat area. Certainly there is the Neva, which can be crossed to the East and an western attack approach utilized to seize the city. But Leningrad has multiple very hard urban area, The area ...

Except now you find yourself in the fact that logistics is an art not a science.

My experience is that the more intertwined your supply net is, the better it is. Rail usage is slightly random, you have the enemy bombing your railway/railyards, the Axis have Soviet Partisans ...

quite a lot coming together nicely for you in that turn apart from clearly being blocked at Leningrad (though he may have put too much there?)

going for Voronezh at this stage could be, in the words of Sir Humphry, a 'brave' decision.

And as ever, an enjoyable read

I also see that the ...
