I also have this problem. Have modified the startup file to "playmovie 0". Windows Media Player is installed. Not sure if I have properly installed DirectX 9 but I have been running DirectX 11. Any other advice, anyone? Thanks.

Where I found "play move 1" I modified them one by one to "play movie 0". Still not working. And I just made coffee preparing to stay up all night with a new game ...
