RE: Iwo Jima

Good idea.
Although costly in the lives of US Marines, possession of Iwo Jima saved over 2400 hundred B29s and the lives of more than 24 000 USAAF personnel.

RE: "undo"

I play on a touch pad so easy to click the wrong spot.
Playing alone, no problem, undo all the time
Playing against an opponent I'll let the move stand and sluff it off to miscommunication, fog of war, etc IF it uncovers any of his forces., Otherwise, I'll undo.

RE: New Players

I've found Kharkov 43(?) to be nice learning scenario as well. Allows both players offence & defence to work on and can be a real nail-biter against a decent opponent.

So while a 75mm gun might have a fair AP value due to it's high rate of fire.....

Colour me stupid but why would AP value depend on rate of fire ??

There is also a great Daniel McBride work called Braunschweig that covers that time period, made for TOAW III though.
If you happen to find a copy, slide it my way.

I vaguely recall playing this scenario back in the ACOW/III days.
I remember reading Glantz's book of the battle at the same time as a reference.
