Re: Aegean Hunting Party, 1968 - new beta for testing

It's possible those aquired in the 40s were lend lease aircraft that were supposed to be destroyed if not returned post war. The definition of "destroyed" was applied very loosely in many cases. As was the case for India's reactivated B-24s. See Part III: India https://wwiiafterwwii.wordpr...

Re: CMO - v1.08 PUBLIC BETA - Brand NEW Features

Since I generally beta test on Steam and keep my Matrix install fir official releases. Just checking that the automstic update for Steam is 1638 and that 1645 and 1662 would have to be done manually? Correct. I installed the Steam Beta and I've been updating to the latest build manually Thanks

Re: CMO RUNNING POLL - Gameplay feature requests

Can you show the devs promising multiplayer and when they said it would be available for consumer? https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10201&t=397963&p=5191116&hilit=Multiplayer#p5191116 To quote Dimitris in a reply in the above thread; "This is the WEGO-style MP. Th...

Re: looking for help on the 1/3 rule

Using the 1/3 rule or setting the number to maintain on station is based on the aircraft model. So even though you have three tankers the mission is going to try and keep 1 KC-30 and 1 KC'135 airborne. You currently can't say just keep 1 tanker airborne. Alternatively you can set up a duplicate miss...

Re: Submarine Target Acquisition - No FoW

For different behavior where the dub doesn't have constant information sharing try playing with realistic sub comms. That way the sub will not get contact updates unless it's a comms depth so pre-existing contacts will degrade and new contacts will no appear unless detected by the sub individually.

Re: Helicopter very low on fuel - can it land on an island and wait to be rescued by FFG?

I don't think is possible at present but if you're playing in the editor you could drop a Landing Zone or FARP facility down and then once the chopper was within range of the FFG you could remove the facility unit.

Re: Northern Inferno 24 - Battlewagons -but where is the Cargo

I maybe missing something, but where is the cargo/ammunition that is supposed to be moved to the landing zones? I may be wrong but I think the scenario predates cargo features and it's been quite awhile since I played it but I think you need to move the units to the zones and things will teleport i...

Re: Adding a Port?

How do I add a port to the map? I tried to put in a port in Canada but I can't find a port when trying to add a unit. Just like with airfields you can add a Single Unit Port feom.the facilities index or build one by placing a group facilities like piers and drydocks on the map and grouping them.

Re: Question about the Rampage's Altitude

I think it's an issue with the missile. From.the sources I see the release envelope for air launch is between 3,000 and 40,000 feet. Not the apogee of the ballistic arc.

Re: Question about the Rampage's Altitude

The Rampage ALBM is listed as having a H-Lo-Hi attack profile. According to the WRA it is supposed to dash in toward the target and minimum altitude and be released at max distance. It doesn't say what altitude. The last "Hi" part, to me, seems as though the weapon is supposed to be launc...

Re: Scenario 1: Down Bird

Does anyone know why there is a KC-135 tanker with no loadout orbiting the Gulf of Benin? It's to big to land at Banak and there is no other Player air base so presumably the plan is that it just continues to fly around in circles off West Africa until it crashes from fuel exhaustion. Nice feature....

Re: OECM in an Anti-Scouting Role?

I've seen this in several AARs, especially for Mediterranean scenario s. The Opfor will definitely pick up the jamming but won't get a precise track. It seems most useful when space is confined so the chance of avoiding detection completely is low so it's best to create confusion.

Re: Illumination round

Indeed. Star-shells were FAR more important before surface search radar was more-or-less matured by the end of WW2. That said, in the period Command covers, I think illumination flares were used for a couple of purposes: 1) Intimidation of unfriendly ships/aircraft in Gunboat diplomacy 2) Some earl...
