Fix or Improve your combat - My suggestion and others.

Firstly before reading this, i want you to know i have some 800 hours or so in this game now, and have played purely against players in PBEM or server games, aswell as modded scenarios for most of them. I say this so you know i genuinely have enough experience and have seen enough battles and ...

btw there was, or maybe still is another bug

sometimes when units are in port or city hexes they retreat but game still shows that they surrender
did you check if Das Reich is really not present on a map via CR?
100% was destroyed, and will return 10 turns later with 0% TOE.

Re: City forts attacker losses too low.

You are correct, it is the biggest current gripe i have with this game currently. This game has dumb combat the more i play it and see examples, as the more troops you have the less casualties you take because the casualties are partially or fully influenced by the end outcome of the battle. This is ...

RE: Urban terrain combat balance

<t> You realize in virtually every battle on the Eastern front the Soviets took significantly more casualties compared to the Germans, especially when they were attacking. Urban battles are no different, yes the PPsH was a good sub machine gun, but do you know what is more effective then a sub ...

RE: Italian Alpini divisions

<t> I actually did exactly this in my 1942 overhaul mod i made, might post it here someday but was waiting for editor update to see what else is possible. There's also Bersaglieri regiments, Italian airborne, ski battalions, armored divisions, and some other elite units that needed their morale ...

RE: Italian Alpini divisions

What has been collected so far by this all is that there is overwhelming evidence that the Alpini division was significantly larger then what is represented ingame, 9800 men ingame, while sources vary from 13,000 > 17,000 total men depending on 1940-1942 TOE for Alpini divisions.

RE: Italian Alpini divisions

Yeah let's not take another look at an irrelevant infantry division that has nothing to do with the subject. Thanks for stopping by for the discussion DesertedFox, really appreciate your input as always, very helpful.

RE: Italian Alpini divisions

<r> I don't know if you're this stupid or if you are simply trolling, but you posted an Italian security division, when the subject is clearly about Italian Alpini divisions, which are listed everywhere as having 15,000+ strength.<br/>

RE: WITW compared to WITE2?

<t> WITW takes 25% of the time (or less depending on the situation) to do a turn then WITE2, i have played a game to turn 64 with a friend, and during the same time have done 12 turns of WITE2 with another player for an example. The air interface is terrible in WITW, but airforce in general is much ...

Yes that is also what i read, so you would agree it's not correct that ingame the divisions only have a strength of 9000?

Italian Alpini divisions

<r> Everywhere i look i see them being listed and referred to having a strength of 15,000 to 17,600 men depending on the division, but ingame they have 9,000. Is the TOE incorrect, or was there attached units that brought these divisions up to that strength? If the latter is the case, they are not ...

RE: Urban terrain combat balance

<t> Urban combat is probably the second worst part of the game in regards to land combat, with the first being unrealistic retreat losses for Germany. <br/>
<br/>
The problem with this game is it's far to binary, It would be far more realistic especially in regards to urban combat if the ...

RE: Germans need city forts in Soviet Union

<t> You are so unbelievably wrong and/or delusional. <br/>

RE: Germans need city forts in Soviet Union

<t> Both 1 and 2 are ridiculous comments, and i really wonder why at all you felt the need to make them. In 1942 you literally start the game as Germany with Stalingrad encircled. This game is entirely based on history, and forces you to do many things to recreate them, oh why did Germany send those ...

RE: Germans need city forts in Soviet Union

<t> From 1942 onwards, City fortress doctrine was prevalent in the Germany army and with Hitlers furthering command over it as it found itself more on the defense, as 'Festung' cities, or literally fortress cities. <br/>
<br/>
Stalingrad is the obvious example, hundreds of thousands of troops were ...

<t> I just loaded turn 1 in STB for a quick example, i literally have 20+ photos like this i could get, but this is just a normal thing to see that you could easily replicate. You can't possibly tell me this is WAD.. This is the result from ground attacking with JU87s, like i said, they get ...

RE: Extreme Axis Air Losses ?

<t> The problem is flak losses and reliability are both unrealistic in this game, atleast compared to real life and WITW to name a previous example. You can't feasibily bomb anything, especially with low flying aircraft like JU87 or IL2s without being unrealistically shredded by flak, and even if ...
