Re: Westerley Wind, Fine NJP72 (J) vs Lowpe (A) DBB Sce 30

Looking at the losses. If I was the Allied player I would feel good about the CA, CL and DD losses and ratios. The AP losses could slow down your opponent. This is the best combined (Allied and Japanese) AAR I have ever seen.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))

Thank you for responding to my questions. I look forward to seeing how the Vietnam landing plays out.

WITP AE is unique in scope and time. It is the only strategic game I know of where the land, sea and air elements are of almost equal importance.

Some players emphasize the game component. Other ...

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))

Great Action! I appreciate your lack of caution. At this stage of the game, ally players often use a very boring and slow application of overwhelming force. This is a lot more entertaining as a spectator. Is it more fun for you? Any thought of posting the replays on YouTube?

If I remember right, there was a US Admiral (Fletcher?) who was criticized for paying too much attention to refueling.

Great action! You might as well fight with the surface fleet now. The US Fletcher horde will soon be overwhelming.

How do you keep track with so much action, spread over so much territory taking place at once?

I admire your fortitude in the face of overwhelming odds. This game is one of the most entertaining I have ever seen. Two skilled players giving their best for years.

What is the port and air base size of Quinhon? I would imagine that you have a lot of engineers to expand it rapidly. Does it have any terrain defensive bonus?

Thank you to for this exciting turn!

Wow! That is a lot of action. Good luck with the next turn.

The abundance of engineers is one the best assets for the allies.

I would be very nervous about a possible night fight or bad weather day for a carrier task force that has only one CA and no BBs.

Good luck!

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))

This is a fascinating game. I have never seen an allied invasion of Vietnam, anywhere close to this early in the game. Having a narrow thrust adds speed but is more vulnerable to being cut off.

If this had occurred in real life, it would have major consequences in world history. Whether for good or ...

My Dad was on a LST that picked up Chinese troops at Haiphong and transported them north to fight Mao. Here is an excerpt from his letter dated 4/4/46:
