So just poking through the game directory for a few minutes before I even open the game, it looks like we have enough access to the Xenko engine to get in trouble... I'm having trouble finding where the actual game mechanics are in the code though. I think I need more coffee.

Back when you could still select Starting Weapon Type, some people modded the Empire files to give another thecnology. Something higher that was useable early.

PS. I know they are 2 sepperate games, but this would also give you a massive edge over stellaris. Modders complain a lot, that stellaris is limiting modding so much. Many features in mods have to be scrapped due to engine limitations or have to be worked around in a very unclean manner. I guess ...
