Re: A condemnation on Long range amphibious transports

Why not require level 3 or more in Amphibious to get cruise? Then you get a max of 2 or 3 cruises. That way you can't do a German invasion of South Africa or Brazil with the same transport.

Re: Conference of Champions: Archmache vs ElvisJJonesRambo

Isn't it better to take more turns to mop up all those easy units so that your generals get more stars and units have more experience? From my past games, having 2-3 star generals as soon as possible are a game changer.

Re: World at War Tournament: Stalling Tactics

Unfortunately the tournaments have always been full of scammers, ghosters, and unsportsmanlike behavior. I play MP exclusively but never in tournaments because of this.
Sure they get punished in points for being inactive, but you get punished with time lossed and frustration waiting and wondering ...

Re: World at War Tournament: Stalling Tactics

Bill,

Appreciate the update. I'm going to sound like a broken record again but continued stalling and lack of sportsmanship. I'm playing the BBS and the same pattern of stalling and selectively only playing the game they are doing better in. So the very first message I get from BBS is "Let's play ...

Re: World at War Tournament: Stalling Tactics

Yeah it's very frustrating. Sorry you are going through it as well. I guess I'm fortunate my opponent at least played a few turns :) You would think the person would concede if they tried an aggressive strategy and it didn't go well.

World at War Tournament: Stalling Tactics

Has anyone dealt with another player stalling in this WWII tournament? My opponent Tichtg has played 2 turns in 3 weeks. It is very frustrating, and it seems like every time I join a tournament, most my games are like this. My opponent was overzealous and then decided to stall. As a result, I can't ...

Re: Naval Combat Guide/Tips?

Very fascinating thread. I've always wondered if anyone has pulled off an aggressive German naval strategy in MP. I could definitely see a British player committing to heavily to the Med or with a split force see a good portion of his capital ships destroyed by all those pesky subs with dreadnoughts

Re: How the heck to defend Serbia?

OldCrowB,

Do you care to share? You have me at another strategy :) I'm actually playing a game now and went hard for the Serbia blitz and was foiled. MY opponent shipped in 3 FRench Corps plus a general. However, I did capture Nish, and within 2 spaces to the secondary Serbian capital. Looks like ...

Re: How the heck to defend Serbia?

Thanks for the tip. Do you feel it's a better use of resources to move those French units into Italy and declare War on Belgium as soon as the UK joins? I'm not sure if the French can maintain 3 fronts e.g. Germany, Italy, and Serbia. Because if you send 1 general to Italy and 1 to Serbia, not sure ...

Re: How the heck to defend Serbia?

HI All,

I played GringoAR and have to say his Serbian Melee was unstoppable. I'm praying for a Stalemate but its October 1916 and Russia just withdrew. He operated several German Corps, plus committed 2nd AH army group against the Serbs. Then added Cavalry from both. I tried my best to slow him ...

RE: TAIFUN (Allies) vs IIo4Tu (Axis) Full game 1939

<t> Thank you two so much for posting. Love to see a great battle and learn new tricks. I really think Taifun's downfall was losing those forces in North Africa when he got caught up by a blitz that took Tobruk. Once you lose those precious resources in low supply it puts the Brits in dire straits ...

RE: Infuriating Super Poland

As the Axis, wouldn't it be better to let the Germans mop up all the easy units to gain experience rather than let them surrender on turn 2? I always thought it gave my commmanders, tanks, armies a little more experience against weak units. Unless i'm missing something.

I'm so sorry to hear you had a similar situation. My opponent hasn't played in a week either. I don't want to even say it but it does make me wonder if someone can use a fake account or two to register and then control the outcomes. Seems like a lot of effort but after ...
