Jansako,

I am not sure if a newly created plane unit will come on the map.

I also added an upgrade path to a newer plane for some existing units. Now that is a possibility that the new plane may be able to be built. I think that happened in my old game, but it was so late in 45... and I cannot ...

For Japan, they will never be available to build, but are available if an arriving unit has the plane. Again, this is hard-coded; it's not me.

As a workaround, would it be possible to create a small (size 1 or something) unit that would arrive with the airplane, to make it available to build ...

You probably broke the script by defeating the invasion. I am unsure if it can be 'restarted' again any other way than rewinding & letting it take the base.

Here is one I use in my last 2-3 PBEM that I initiated.

Combined Arms rule:
Armored units must be supported by equal number of INF units when attacking. The exception is a single Tank unit or Clear terrain when any number of tank units are allowed to work alone.

I really like the Mogamis in the CL configuration & I wish for a path to keep them & still get the AA upgrades etc. As it is, I have to choose one of the long upgrades/rebuilds or fall behind in radar & AAA upgrades.

I like the performance of the 155/60 gun, basically it will go through anything ...

IIRC these are chosen & then locked in at game start. So there is nothing you can do with the scripts after you started your scen.
The game will pick one of those it uses 'at random'.

New patch about to arrive 3.0d

There are a few fixes, but mainly tweaks and adding DB changes from the new patch where they fit the mod. Yes I did add the allied very late war missing DD.

I guess at this point it is no longer about force preservation, just about hurting the Allies whichever way and at whatever cost.

On engines, yes, I built it to 30, and they have been advancing, okay? Remember its no advantage to get the Engine before a plane comes along that uses it :) the only rush could be to get the engine for the first Judy and Jill into the game if you do not mind the high SL.

It is 2024. the UX design progressed past the point where one solution fits all and where every user has to accept the same solution.

Just make it a darn setting & everyone will be happy...

I know most people would want a 100% product out of the box. IMO stuff that can be modded, meaning 'stats' or map properties/bases can be done by modders & you do not need to focus on that. The game mechanics/code stuff what modders cannot affect is what should matter. If you do not have the ...

I would not. 26a has really (I mean really) old scripts that are also written for a different map with different bases etc.

I think the chance is high that the AI would just break & go braindead on you, notwithstanding that you would have map issues (TF's getting stuck or going through dry land).

IMO Japan needs to do late game what Allies are doing early game - hit them where they ain't.

Attacking a deathstar head-on is folly (glory to the exceptions to that rule!), so you pick the smaller targets - CVE's, supply convoys etc. It is about creating the illusion that he needs to be careful ...

I have followed my own advice - CV was unable to get replacements for Vals, but it was OK for Zeros & Kates.
Hopped off the Vals onto the same base where the CV TF was & voila - replacements were available.

That clearly shows the replacement rules are different for LBA vs Carrier based. Now I am ...

Have you figured out if the 'Base Command HQ' rule also applies for units that do have an HQ, not just independent ones?
