Golf anyone? How bad/good to start?

18 years ago when i started playing golf, a good friend of mine adviced me to start on the par 3 course. I remember asking him, "so when I can play the par 3 course in 27, I am ready for the main course?".

This was a sensible question, but if he had said "yes" I would still be playing the par 3 ...

…I think the study of war is extremely valuable and a broad knowledge of history and military history would be a good thing in terms of helping avoid future wars. I think you are both right, and the strategy and tactics are intriguing to understanding and learn. History has given us a lot of insights and interesting angles.
