For me it is more or less a habit I embrace.
Just put a Commerce Center everywhere, it's hurting anybody.

Also in my last start-over I realized that recreation centers give a whopping 5% maintenance reduction.

I guess it is the Bonus Income that gets improved by the Commerce Centers, because that is stuff the Private Sector is buying from you. ( Fuel, Ships, Resorts )

I want to clarify how commerce centers work with the private economy in DW2. Without trade with other empires or independent colonies.

According to a post from dev they generate trade income from transactions.

I think it should have like three options. For common construction ones like steel, for rare ones like carbonite or hexodorium and for luxury.

Edit: Researching civilian ships makes a lot more freighter construction


It is pointless. Even the biggest cargo ships will load like a hundred pieces of resources and that's it. Even if they CAN load more they will not ...

It should be. I play the second long game since release and despite a few patches options for disabling disasters still not working. However it legitimizes my savescam if an event happens. Hope it will be fixed soon.

I have the direct opposite experience.

If you don't paint all available map in your color and use smaller galaxy with lots of AI you will have shortages. And if you start colonising and rising pops especially.

More than that I never have enough luxury for my planets after the first hundred of years.
