Re: Good game but...

if game is not trying to be balanced then who a hell would agree to play as an Axis?

1- someone who enjoys Sisyphean tasks
2- someone who enjoys a historical game and doesn't really care about "winning"
3- someone who knows how the difficulty settings works and either gives the Axis a boost ...

Re: Beethoven (Soviet) vs HLYA (Axis): '41 Campaign

What are you not happy about now?

Right now? Passive aggressive posts.

Thank you, Beethoven, for answering my question. That makes sense! It's hard to pour through all of the AARs as a relative late-comer to this game.

Is there a reason you didn't turn down Soviet logistics? Like you cited it ...

Re: Beethoven (Soviet) vs HLYA (Axis): '41 Campaign

Like idk this is where y'all just lose me. The Soviet union is "OP" in 1941 but y'all house rule away an Axis super power?

Maybe it is too game altering, idk. But like, it makes no sense to talk about the game's balance when you just... Decline to use the game's mechanics?

Don't get me wrong, play ...

Re: Good game but...

I'm suspecting that there's some language barrier issue here: you don't seem to be a native English speaker and I write like a novelist raised by a lawyer. I'll try to make my point more clear because you're way out in left field.

did i wrote that Axis should have an ability to win the war ? no ...

Re: Good game but...

Mehring

you are not the only one who is or was playing as both sides
and there are many people who understand game mechanics and pvp balance very well

and most of them agree that Soviets are just too OP

it is not like Axis player can not ever win, he can
but it is definitely not 50% chance to ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

If I'm sarcastic it's because I'm an old competitive gamer and I have very little patience for the scrub mentality of "something went against my expectations and therefore it needs to be changed now."

Also consider that the AI does this exact thing to me basically every single turn?

Also consider ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

Such tactics are an abuse, because there is no way a depleted cavalry division could cause three divisions to each lose 10% combat effectiveness + fatigue + material lost. I'm glad we are getting somewhere now.

Again, you're like, ignoring the 200+ bbrs that flew overhead?

I would agree that ...

Checkbox for Commanders Report

So one thing I'm noticing with the commanders Report is that I can select all of the divisions between 70 and 100 TOE and send them to the map...

But it would be cool if there was a "selector" field that was just a checkbox so I could, say, choose 7 out of 10 divisions that meet that criteria to ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

So to clarify:

You have no idea if the 4 hasty attacks by an airborne brigade had a decisive impact on the way 5 rifle divisions were able to defeat a single motorized division, but the single motorized division losing to the 5 rifle divisions is compelling evidence that cavalry divisions are broken?

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

So your concern is that it's possible for the Soviets to win a battle.

I'm literally just trying to understand your point? Because it took 5 divisions doing a deliberate attack to route this one division, which will be ready to go again in a couple of weeks. And even then it took 4 scouting sorties ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

The AI does this to me as the Axis all the time. I have taken to calling them "scout&rout" but instead of 10% casualties I take 100%.

And this cost the Soviet Union >100 planes in losses judging by the numbers shown.

What the Soviets can do?! Win a battle and take heavy losses if they spam hasty ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

I... They brought 5x the forces and suffered 3:1 casualties and you think that's overpowered?

Like your addendum makes even *less* sense... Here's your complaint as I understand it:

You think that it's not on that the Soviet Union can use 5 divisions and a hundred bombers to rout a single enemy ...

Re: lets talk about soviet cavalry again

From the loss numbers it seems more likely that the Soviet bbrs dropped on the cav division.

Like yeah the "laser guided bombs" so op... .5 kills per plane! Phew. How will the wermarcht ever survive.

Idk how you see that battle result and see a problem... I would frankly love it if the Soviets did ...

Re: CV value and winter - I mean why bother....?

Yeah... Historically one does not campaign during winter for a large number of reasons. Typically you park your army somewhere you can supply it sufficiently and then wait for all that nasty weather to clear so you can march again in beautiful springtime (probably not why they call it the month of ...

Re: CV value and winter - I mean why bother....?

Yes it's annoying when history interferes with ones enjoyment of a game.

Albert has gone on record as suggesting that game balance should take precedence over historical accuracy...

To which I say, great! Let's give the Axis a couple of X-Wing formations and an M1 Abrams battalion.

Or maybe ...

Re: Soviet cavalry divisions and immortal retreats

IK I've commented on it before but it's absolutely hilarious to me how some members of this community (Stamb is one example) seem to take the stance that if something doesn't work exactly how they think it should work then it's broken.

Like I've had double routs from 50 morale 50 exp 70% toe ...

Re: Credit to a WADers

I mean, the game is about the war on the eastern front, which was pretty lopsided. The USSR threw away like 3 fronts in the first year through sheer incompetence and were able to still put themselves in a position where they were clearly going to win the war within 20 months of the invasion ...
