Re: DShK Production Quantities

And if for the first six months of the war the Armed Forces received 1400 DShK from industry, and for the whole of 1942 - 7400, then in 1943 - 14 400, in 1944 - 14 800, and for the first half of 1945 - 7300.

Re: Weird/Buggy: Soviet 107mm Mortar Production behaviour [ID:729]

Here's an example from another autoplay, This was run at game version 1.03.07

some example turns:
...no idea when it ends
T112 = 1233
T118 = 1233
T119 = 1233
T120 = 1233
...no idea when the other 5 are being produced.

The 120mm Mortar somehow always matches 100% [turn x production] - numbers ...

The manual has a typo, the decimal points are missing. The ranges should be read as:
  • 1:5 - 1:2.01
  • 1:10 - 1:5.01

Bryansk Counterattack
Krusk Counterattack

For counterattacks against single regiments - use less divisions (unless you are farming the maximum amount of wins). A "large" amount of units (4+ divisions or, when you unlock them, 2+ corps) in a single combat reduces the fire rate of their elements ...

Back to the air campaign, a new list of guards fighter regiments has been released. This will be adding +5 NM/experience to all of these units. With the arrival of improved combat aircraft this may help with the air war soon.

Do you just get Guards air units historically or do you have to earn ...

No, there is no penalty. HQs in theater boxes do not do anything, same as their generals.

Re: Quick Questions Thread

When I create my two first cavalry corps (fx.), in November 1941, does it matter what base cavalry divisions I use for them? Ie. if you use larger mountain cavalry divisions, will the resulting cavalry corps become larger? I guess the new corps in itself has its own ToE, and the included divisions ...

You mean when assigned to STAVKA?

Yes. Send brigades to Moscow, convert them to SUs in Stavka, on the next turn any division can get them instantly (excluding Crimea when it is cut off from the mainland). Then when the brigade is damaged enough or just useless in its current place, go to the ...

Re: Command Battle Modifiers

I wonder if the odds that are showing when you scroll over the defending hex takes into consideration penalties or if they are just the gross CV value before any penalties.

Mostly gross CV, but with the terrain width modifiers (extra CV for infantry, less CV for tanks in swamps, heavy forests or ...

Use them, Soviet brigades are a very important support unit. They are best used directly attached to combat units, not HQs, where they compete with artillery for SU ...

Re: Command Battle Modifiers

I tried to summarise the information presented by Dr. Wiedrock into a text format, maybe it would be easier to understand when presented two ways.

Preamble:
Command penalties decrease the CV of your units participating in combat. They are percentage-based.
They come from two sources, the effects ...

Re: Red Snow : The Days Our Mothers Died

Looking at your rail repair screenshot, you have chosen a weird way to repair rail. Generally the most efficient path is to repair double rails first, as they can bring 2.5x amount of freight through them compared to single rails, and you do not have many rail repair units yet. It is also beneficial ...

I have used WitE1 rules for Guards promotions as a reference since early patches, they seem to work as written in the WitE1 manual (though no idea about planes, but that is a different story).

Put some intermediate depot like Riga on priority 3, so it could send freight to front depots (which have priority 4 > 3) that are too far away.

Re: Soviet Rocket Launcher performance before 1944

For comparison, another Katusha unit in an assault front shot and hit way more, even when fighting a very small enemy (a regiment). In other combats from that turn rocket regiments from an assault front had 5.09, 10.85, 10.40 FPE and 0.22, 0.14, 0.80 HPE.

Re: Soviet Rocket Launcher performance before 1944

I can definitely say that Katushas underperform in combat, even when they have high XP, does not matter if attacking or defending. Here are two battles from 42, where three (not fully healthy) regiments have managed to land 1 (one) hit in two combats.

You should start building heavy tank regiments, they are available since October. Better use your KVs before Tigers and Panthers arrive, also these regiments are instantly promoted to Guards.

I'm in 1942 as Soviet and my tank brigades all build up in reserves and transfer to Stavka when I send them to the map. My first time getting this far :D

I have no trouble converting infantry brigades ...

I'm just curious what other Soviet players tend to do with these units. I have a use for the Rifle Brigades but really can't see any major use for the other two.

Thanks
