Re: Invading Australia and Fighting in Mainland Asia

Thanks for the feedback, and for the last issue, this is a known problem on my end, e.g. we had an issue where AI planning gets completely thrown off if transports cannot unload, think planning for the build up of D-Day and so on, and despite my best efforts to have the AI work around this, there ...

Invading Australia and Fighting in Mainland Asia

Howdy everyone, I just finished playing a game as the Japanese until about late 1943. Things were going pretty well, I had taken Perth and most of the eastern seaboard of Australia except the alternate capitol at the bottom, forgot the name. America landed about 20 units into Australia making it ...

This seems to be the prevailing conclusion here. Thanks!

Re: Why is this game so much harder than WWI?

I was thinking maybe you should have gone next with Strategic Command: War in Europe. It has the same map at the same scale as the World War One game. Only the borders and a few resources are different. Maybe your knack with that game would have transferred over. At least in a Euro-centric ...

Re: Why is this game so much harder than WWI?

I would even be willing to run a PBEM game with someone who is willing to help me out, either side. Although, as is probably apparent, the amount of challenge I can put up is unlikely to be great.

Why is this game so much harder than WWI?

I have played through SC WWI twice, and only twice, as the CP. I got a staggering victory both times. The first, by destroying the Royal Navy in 1916(?) and embargoing them to death while forcing through to Paris. Britain surrendered, then France within 3 turns. Felt pretty good, although it was a ...

What to do with AP?

I usually play the 41 GC from the German perspective, against AI mostly, and by turn 5/6 I always have about 40 AP built up and won't use any for the remainder of 41. Is there some point to it? 10 per turn seems ridiculously high. I am on turn 10 right now and I replaced all the "worst" commanders ...

Some screenshots might help, including the combat results. Are your attacking units in HQ range?

I am starting a new campaign in the next few days. I will utilize some of the tips here as some of them are definitely very helpful. I will post relevant screenshots if I get in similar stuck ...

Re: How to break a soviet line in 41'?

If you want to do pockets (which do not work well in Player vs Player games) then unless the forces opposing you are trash units with less than 2k men, you always want to deliberate attack to brush aside the first line of defense. If there are strong in-depth lines of defense, then you need to ...

Re: How to break a soviet line in 41'?

I would also be open to playing as the Soviets against an experienced German player and getting smacked just so I can see what they do. I have no dignity anymore, just a desire to figure out what I am doing wrong.

How to break a soviet line in 41'?

This will sound pretty silly, but I do not understand how to accomplish any sort of breakthrough in this game, and as a result, no encirclements. I simply do not understand how it is done. I have probably played 20+ campaigns plus scenarios(all starting in 1941 as the Germans) and every game has ...

Re: Question regarding missing MP's(screenshots)

You probably left them on supply priority 4, which means they've used most of their trucks to try getting fuel and supplies above 100%. With most of the trucks spent that way, not many were left free for MP gain.

I checked that specifically. No trucks where used when I did the airdrop and when ...

Question regarding missing MP's(screenshots)

My question is about missing MP's on armored units, specifically PG3 on turn 2. I played a pretty good turn 1, at least for me, and planned to stop playing once it was my 2nd air turn, but I was looking at the MP's on my armored units just so I could think about it some. I noticed that my two panzer ...

Refitting a unit questions.

I am currently playing a 41' campaign as the Germans with Soviet Morale at 110. I had the morale set a little high so the AI would be less inclined to retreat making it easier to pocket and maybe launch more counterattacks, it has yet to do that second part on turn 8. My panzer units drove forward ...

Questionable Battle result?

This was on turn 1 of the GC 1941 playing as the axis. I sent Totenkopf up towards Riga to take on turn 1. Had to hasty attack with ground support hoping for a retreat. Leading to the combat in the attached image. Odds were 1:1.2. Massive bummer. Oh wait, they retreated anyways. was curious as to ...

Tips for a struggling newcomer?

I have read the manual and seen quite a bit of people suggest never attacking with armored units/motorized units but this doesn't seem to work to well. I am playing the GC on normal after having played the Road to Leningrad and Destruction of Southwestern Front scenarios a few times, didn't win any ...
