Re: [BUG / ERROR] The Silent Service - The Enemy Below

Draining battery at 9 kts is ridiculous. When running at max speed sure, I can accept that.
Subs had/have multiple diesel engines and generally use them all when surfaced to drive the boat. When the batteries need charging some diesel engines are diverted to do that. It's quite uncommon that the ...

Re: [BUG / ERROR] The Silent Service - The Enemy Below

There are some people I simply don't respond to and would simply block if I could because they almost invariably show up in my threads and start blathering. Yay.

Regardless. Draining battery in calm seas on the surface at 9 kts is clearly wrong. I'll go with every single submarine ...

[BUG / ERROR] The Silent Service - The Enemy Below

So I went to play The Silent Service campaign mission The Enemy Below. (awesome movie)
Tasked to search a large area for a convoy, I surface the sub and run at flank. Of course. You're in a diesel. That's what you do. Flank just cuz I needed to haul ass to get where I needed to be; otherwise I'd run ...

Reporting Exception As Requested By Game

Playing Kobayashi Maru, the 2nd scenario in Red Tide, I was going along when suddenly a window popped up saying something about an exception error and buttons to report the bug here and open the locations of the save and log. They are attached.
Not sure if I should keep playing the scenario now ...

Re: Silent Service Campaign - Play In Chronological Order

In this case, I don't think there is a difference between playing the scenario in "campaign" mode and playing the separate scenarios, since they have little relation to each other.

Fair enough. In campaign mode I guess you'd just have to do well enough to proceed to the next one. I can self ...

Re: Micro Reactor for AB

Yeah. There's a bunch of companies working on micro-reactors of several types. Some of which do indeed fit on a flatbed truck and are transportable.

[Q] Silent Service Campaign - Play In Chronological Order

So I recently bought the Silent Service campaign. In it's description it says:
"The Silent Service explores submarine operations from 1950 through to the modern day, presenting you the player with a glimpse into the world of modern submarine operations. The scenarios are by default arranged in ...

Re: Intermittent Emissions Advice and Education!

With intermittent emissions, if you only let the radar rotate 3 to 5 times the opfor will only get a general idea of where you might be, not specifics, even with triangulation. They'll know your general direction but not distance, heading, or speed. Then by altering course and speed you can throw ...

Re: Each campaign and scenario need to re-tuned by the devs after the introduction of new missile mechanics

I made this script on my own, anyone with basic Editor/Lua knowledge can execute it and try to play the scen with the WRA changes and see if it fits better with his desires?
Hey, that's sweet thanks!
Any chance something like this could be done to change the game features all in a nice batch ...

Re: Each campaign and scenario need to re-tuned by the devs after the introduction of new missile mechanics

I know I have made sever similar topics in the past, but it seems that (apart from me) noone is really bothered by the fact that after the new missile mechanics have been introduced, campaigns and official standalone scenarios just dont function properly anymore.
I'm with ya man. I've been doing ...

With long scenarios of such length (I'm designing a 28 day one myself) then the mechanics of turnaround time really come into play a lot more, no? You can't just keep everything possible on "Quick Turnaround."

Pretty please? With sugar on top. :D
I'm very much enjoying the game. But BOY is some of the text hard to read. Sure, I can use Windows' scale feature, but that affects the entire desktop so I'd hafta enable it just to play this game (or CMO for that matter) then turn it back off when done.
Or i ...

Re: Texture definition?

I hope this is appropriate to bring up here, if not I'll make a new thread.
Stamen Terrain and OpenMap both cover up BMNG and/or Bathymetry. I'm 98% sure that in 32-bit CMO I regularly used Stamen Terrain with BMNG for the ocean. Now turning on Stamen Terrain makes the oceans black. Similarly with ...

Re: Texture definition?

I would echo the sentiment. The photographic accuracy and detail of the Sentinel 2 layer is its biggest advantage.
While the added relief shading certainly makes it easier to see terrain, it may be a bit TOO much. It interferes with detail on the Sentinel 2 map; and that relief shading is available ...

Here is an issue in the manual I have found particularly confusing.

7.4.3 Mobile facility vs Ground unit and Split/Merge ground units

One of the most significant capabilities brought by the operation planner, is the possibility to have units ...

Thanks very much for that complete NTDS icons list. There are many there I didn't know. Very very useful.
Perhaps those writing the manual think people interested in playing CMO already know all the NTDS symbols? <shrug>
