Going to war with the nomad regime stops those requests. It makes sense because they are trying to extort your regime. Dont let yourself be extorted!

Is there any sense behind this mechanic? Every game I start, I end up bouncing off because of the ridiculous number of 'ambushes', especially by neutral powers. I have no idea what the intention is behind the mechanic, but it isn't working, and needs to be seriously rethought. It is just annoying ...

every game now between turn 10-20 entire map goes into world war. every major invade all minors and declare war on me.


You should share your save files, that sounds really fun to be struggling really on!


majors are way to weighted to go into war with you.

I dont believe they are but even ...

I think you just got lucky (or unlucky!) both times, I have started games on the most recent steam beta patch quite a few times and it has not popped up on turn 1.

Breaking things down, you are suggesting the following:

1. Militia should use your unit types and therefore militia should contribute to unit type experience
2. Militia 'wastes space' being irregular
3. Militia should have an option to upgrade to new gear

Did a bit more testing - could be down to size of the planet. I tried a small Seth planet and all AI major regimes expanded after 5 turns in (with survival stress on so plenty of major regimes). I then tried a small planetoid with only 2 other AI major regimes and 1 expanded, 1 didnt. I tried small ...

[1.25i] Major Regime AI Not Expanding

Started a new save on the new beta patch on a small planetoid, 2 major regimes nearby. Despite being 4 turns in one of them (Auson State) has not expanded from their initial borders despite having multiple ways to expand.

I guess i have to update that table in the manual. In fact is AP cost for movement goes up above normal the effect is multiplied by 2. This is a relatively recent change.

Also note that the effects are not linear but discrete.

And also note that Blue Print always uses Engine Design 100%. I am ...

I did some further testing based on blue print models and actual produced models. This all based on no extra applied techs, just basic early game stuff. I am ignoring trucks for now because without knowing the 'hidden weight' its a pointless exercise.

Wanted to add to this as I am also seeing alarming issues with normal vehicle design.

This gives the formula (300*68%)/460 = which gives a engine power/weight of 44%. Based on the table in the manual I should get get a 50% AP movement cost.

But I actually get a -100%AP ...

There is some missing data in regards to truck model design which I believe came in around 1.21i which makes designing a reasonable truck pretty hard (as well making many model truck designs largely useless).

As title says - sealed roads cost 7 AP for trucks not 5 (which is what the manual says it should).
If this changed fair enough, must have missed it!
