You need to assign squadrons to the Carriers and Air Bases. That is in the 'Air Groups' button immediately above the 'Aircraft Types' one.

Left click the asset (Carrier or Base) that you want to assign a unit to, then right click and find the 'Add Air Unit' button. Select a role and number of ...

Aircraft are built automatically - once you have a design.

Not all nations have the ability to design their own aircraft and have to license them from other countries.

When on the monthly view screen, the bottom button of the middle row "Aircraft Types" is the one you need to push.

Sounds like you were using the shortcut that points to autorun.exe - a barely usable menu program that the switches do not work with. Seabee found the correct shortcut on the second install.

i've tried several switches variations but my game continues to run slowly specially turning the map around.

Using the arrow keys, the map moves at a 3 second delay.

The units pop-up box is also a bit slow.

My pc is a ryzen 7 w/ gpu Amd 6650 and 16Ram, W11. Monitor 1440p 27inches.
