Re: Arriba Espana! A Nationalist PBEM AAR Q-Ball (N) v Przemek (R)

Did you lose Jaen or did you liberate it?

Until the Soviet fighters appear at the end of October, I have air superiority by virtue of 2 squadrons of FIAT CR 32s. In air-to-air combat over Cartagena, they made mincemeat of Ni 52s, and did pretty well against the Dewoitines. Unfortuantely we ...

Re: Arriba Espana! A Nationalist PBEM AAR Q-Ball (N) v Przemek (R)

Game Update:

At least this time I won't leave BB Espana parked in El Ferrol.....I learned the hard way that this is NOT a safe port for the Nationalists (nor is any port within 31 hexes of an active Size 3+ airfield)

I'm curious about the size 3+ airfield requirement. Why is this needed? I ...

Re: Possible Errors

I think you need to be at a base with excess supply to pull replacement devices from the pool. I note that the unit in the picture is in hex 94,101 which is not a base.

Re: Arriba Espana! A Nationalist PBEM AAR Q-Ball (N) v Przemek (R)

Can you create LCU's in this match or limited to historical TOE with RSV and Logi creation only? I know you said default options earlier but I want to double check on this option.

Following this AAR - good luck to you both and thanks for sharing

Re: Question on PBEMs

I am interested in PBEM myself but have been hanging back - learning the system and waiting on patches here in this early post release period as some things get ironed out.

Re: "Disciplina, Compostura, Vigilancia"...forming a disciplined People's Army

There are a few pre-war regular infantry regiments sprinkled around the Republic:

Granada - No.8
Cartagena - No.34
Alicante - No.11
Alcoy - No. 12
Valencia - No.9 & No.10
Lerida - No.16
Barcelona - No.13
Budajoz No.3
Mahon No.37

-Most of these have 2 regular battalions and 1 reserve battalion ...

Re: GC Republican AAR

That's a good use of the Republican Transport aircraft, one I didn't think of. I mostly had them just sitting there, couldn't think of a mission for them.

Those DC-2s are literally the only modern aircraft in Spain in July 1936!

I use air transports all the time to move trained squads in RSVs ...

Re: Some Personal Impressions After Several Months of Campaigning

I did some posts on my AAR with a description and pictures much like a tutorial although I am limited to 4 pictures per post. I am willing to add more of those types of posts if people want them.

Oh yes, your AAR was instrumental in learning several of the games mechanics, especially how to ...

Re: Some Personal Impressions After Several Months of Campaigning

I agree. I've been playing these kind of games since the 1980s and WiS is on good footing with this design. It does need some tweaking, especially in the QoL department [Better manual and/or comprehensive tutorials, OOB listing, search feature for looking up units, bases, etc. - I'd personally ...

Re: GC Republican AAR

"Republican Enclave 9 - Southwest Madrid: A quick clean-up is needed, as three entire airbase engineer units are caught on the front lines, and they are sorely needed back in Madrid."

I have used Republican air transport squadrons in Madrid-Barajas to redeploy the airbase LCUs in Navalmoral ...
