RE: Why is this game so expensive ?

<t> The question is not Why is this game so expensive as is IS it worth the price? Well, those of you who bit and have been playing a month now, is it that much better than WITP? Are you happy customers? I have owned WITP for five years and never played a full campaign game, just takes too frigging ...

RE: AE's price

<t> The price seems steep for an expansion, hopefully it will be reduced over time. I bought WITP the day it was released and have gotten my moneys worth but I rarely play it, too much time investment (an operational game covering the Pacific war will take as long as the original if done o...

RE: The Holy Grail of wargaming

Nice to hear it will be weekly turns - actually playable even in less time than the war, unlike WITP.

RE: West, Italian fronts and Reich air defense?

Great to hear this is finally coming out. I played many a game of WIR (and many other eastern front boards before it). Kind of sorry to hear of the demise of the West/Italian and home fronts but sounds like a monster worse than WITP so I doubt it would be missed.

<t> I congratulate PzB and his opponents on the classic WITP AAR! I've never read the whole thing as I took some time off of WITP like many have before me. It is amazing that it took longer to play this out than in real life but that is the nature of the beast and of PB...

<t> I've just completed reading your entire AAR and I am very, very impressed! Your tactical and strategic skills are matched by your superior writing and graphics. I've learned much by studying the economic and production charts too. Thanks very much for a superb effort, I most highly recommend ...

RE: First Impressions?

<t> Well I am still in July 1861 with the Union vs. CSA computer. I haven't read the manual thoroughly (like most wargamers) but watched all the tutorials, the 1st turn one was the MOST helpful by far. Took me awhile to get the hang of attaching and detaching units, and I have more than once left cl...

RE: 2by3 Russian Front Game?

<t> As an owner of ALL of GG's computer wargames of the eastern front WW2 this is the best news I've heard in many, many years. I am a bit wary of the 10 miles per hex but the 5 day turns are appropriate for a theater of this scale (still disappointed that WITP was daily turns, just too damn long IM...

RE: Small Ship, Big War

<r> I am curious about the PO mess on this ship. I know that CPO's in the IJN nowdays have there own mess separate from the lower ranks (in the RN and USN tradition). It would seem very unusual to me third class PO's would be in the same mess as CPO's. There is less distinction between seaman and...

Ok, thanks for that clarification. 70% is surely enough in the stock game. Those were some elite Avenger pilots I guess.

RE: Calling all TOAW III scenario designers!

Thanks very much! It appears the player-generated scenario I played of the entire West Wall in Sept44 is not there, guess I will search for it when I buy TOAW3, my 2nd Matrix game purchase after AACW (got the demo, looks awesome). [:)]

RE: Calling all TOAW III scenario designers!

<t> AOR was a great little game, I miss it. I am an owner of TOAW2, I wonder where I could find a LIST of ALL the scenarios released with the initial version of TOAW3???? There was one scenario I loved playing against the AI as the Germans, a defense of the West Wall from about Sept. 44, wonder if i...
