Touching this, I've seen footage from Korea - M26's standing on sloped ramps, which enabled them to point the gun at higher elevation, acting as artillery.

RE: Uses of HMGvs MMG ?

<t> @HMG vs. MMG: All I know is that HMG's had usually higher ROF, in some cases (Maxim, Vickers, Schwarzlose, Browning 1917) they were water-cooled, which resulted in the ROF, or they were of large caliber, or more robust tripod etc.<br/>

Rifle-caliber HMGs mostly died out after universal ...

RE: infantry guns and recoiless rifles

<t> IG's: I also don't buy them, but if available, I use them. They are quite good in suppressing infantry, mostly while defending - then one well-placed sIG-33 can mean alot. However, I tend to prefer mid-caliber artillery rather than IG's, as Soviet 122mm or US and German 105mm howitzers.<br ...

Good scenario to learn how to take out Tigers and other Cats was in v.7 "The tragic stand", a battallion of Shermans against numerous German vehicles. Only in this scenario I realised how good is to have Sherman 105 and Greyhounds when meeting King Tiger.
