<t>It's possible he was thinking of Age of Empires and those light games, then I agree. I was however thinking serious wargames with hard core wargaming/strategy gaming as focus.<br/>
<br/>
Machiavelli(boardgame) for instance had simple rules but was a really deep strategy game. Would that be hard ...

<r>You summarized it very well Ed, thanx.<br/>

Basically I was hoping for MG to do what AH failed with digitally, namelly stunning wargames with great AI <IMG src="http://www.matrixgames.com/ubb/smile.gif"><s>[img]</s><URL url="http://www.matrixgames.com/ubb/smile.gif">http://www.matrixgames ...

<t>I really like the looks of the maps. Finally we are getting something that resembles a "real" boardgame.<br/>

I know it's early but some things would be nice if at all possible.<br/>

I think the hexborders are a bit on the darkside. Is it possible to have lighter edges like in TOAW or ...

<r>I realise of course that in the short term my ideas would seem rather<br/>
unrealistic but I'm thinking 10 years ahead.<br/>
<br/>
What I really wanted to say was that the ideal for me would be if<br/>
Matrixgames became the "Avalon Hill" of computer wargaming. They failed<br/>
miserably but ...

Matrixgames should go mideaval

<t>No and I don't mean go berserk with axes but try a neglected period. Namelly the period between the Ancients and Modern times.<br/>
<br/>
As a tester and player of Europa Universalis I can testify that there is a market for this period if done right. Even if EU is a good game I think there's room ...

Well I wasn't thinking of stocks in the traditional sence but rather options or something. As you probably know options have a limited expiry time.

I think it could work and I don't see anything illegal with investing in products.

<r>As for Pax Brittanica being converted I agree that maybe it would be better to do a similar game with the "flavour" of PB. This would be cheaper and allow for some new and unique ideas.<br/>

Aquiring rights to boardgames

<r>Ok most of here might agree that Avalon Hill has some of the best game designs ever for war & strategy games. In fact some of the best game designs over all exists on boards and not computers (at least I can't think of one computer game that beats my fave boardgames). The only problem is no AI ...

Pax Brittanica, yes sir.

<r>Ok so I'm also dissapointed at WON getting whacked by the ruthless TS (whose games I'll never buy again).<br/>
<br/>
How about securing the rights to Pax Brittanica? I don't know if it's in the hands of Hasbro or the original designer but it would still be worth examining. AH did a lousy job in ...
