Rusty Veteran Looking For PBEM Opponent

I'm looking for an opponent to PBEM (using PBEM to transfer files) scenarios. Although I prefer using ready made scenarios will consider point-buying games. Nothing over 10k points and 25 game turns. I prefer to fight as German/Axis.

Odd....nothing from the Matrix boys on this topic. Oh, and don't forget....Wild Bill retired....hmmmm.....he was a prime mover of the game and the MC's. I'm telling you....SPWAW is DEAD regarding any new stuff. MAYBE you'll see Lost Victories.

SPWAW v7.0 & Mega Campaigns ?

Rumor I'm hearing is that Matrix has completely forsaken the game and the Mega Campaign series. Any truth to that ?

GUARDS COUNTERATTACK !

<t>Whoah !! ! ! ! I decided to load up WB's SPWAW version of the first three scenario's from AH's famous Squad Leader. Playing the first one using 6.1 I entered a stone building with a 30 man element and was promptly wiped out by a Guards SMG squad. Hmmmm....."one shot, one (unit) kill." ? ? ?<br ...

<t>Well guys....it's not a matter of troop quality, experience, time in the field, rolling 81mm mortar barrages, moving ONE hex at a time....it's a quality or lack of it in the game. This is absolutely something that takes away from the tactical pleasure of the game. If any of you had ever played ...

<t>Gentlemen.....Infantry squads have a hard time "sneaking" up, but can move quite quietly. and when you move through jungle, from the rear of the concealment, believe me...the idea of self-preservation is very present. So, to have an enemy unit sight you from 5+ hexes away and blast you to kingdom ...

Cover and Concealment ? ? ?

<t>Although 6.1 was supposed to tweak terrain benefits, it seems as though sneaking from the backside of concealment (woods, building, jungle) is no more advantageous to keeping yourself undetected than waltzing down the streets of New York City with the Penn State Marching Band !<br/>

<t>It is such a sad thing on this forum that people want to correct and chastise others who post when "they" don't like terms or phrases or whatever used in messages here. Japs in 6.1 ?

<t>The Jap troops in 6.1 seem to break quickly, take heavy suppression, and recover from suppression with great difficulty. This doesn't seem QUITE correct as my readings of WW2 Japanese Army/Marines were that they were quite tenacious. Can someone enlighten me here or do the Japs in 6.1 break too ...
