Re: Strategic Command - American Civil War Improvements Needed

G'day Bruce,

Glad to hear you're enjoying the game :)

Generals in ACW are already the most influential they've ever been in the SC series, with a much wider range of skill levels (2 for McDowell all the way up to 10 for a fully upgraded Sherman), and the particularly skilled HQs extend a ...

Re: Strategic Command - American Civil War Improvements Needed

USA Engineers and the sea jump spaces going north from the bottom of Florida end up never arriving near New York.

There are two sets of naval loops due south of Florida. The ones on the left will deposit units in the Atlantic off Jacksonville. The ones on the right take you further up north ...

2. Eliminate the CSA seagoing ironclads and monitors as they never had them and eliminate the USN from submarines or at least make this decision as part of a script to include or exclude in the game.

The Confederacy has monitors in this game? Those Rebs are more innovative than I thought ...

Strategic Command - American Civil War Improvements Needed

Regardless of the issues dealing with map size, here are the things that should be addressed by the developer when the next version or update is released...

1. Redo the impact of Generals in the game as you do a disservice to the CSA. It was not technology that saved the CSA in the first two and a ...

AI Settings

<t> I am trying to make sense exactly the effect of the AI Settings. There are four settings --- none, some, more and serious. My question is "What is the impact to the AI and the game?" There is nothing in the manual the explains the AI settings so I assume (oh-oh) it is one of those "self ...

<br/>
I tried to purchase some of the games that were on sale as gifts for X-Mas but when you go to check out and get ready to give them the CC info, the prices do not reflect the "sale price." Is ...

RE: is west-civ working on a new game?

<t> I think it would be great especially if England or France enters the war. In the west, many a battle used gunboats as firesupport platforms for long distance bomardment of various forts or troops. River transport and support was very common. I think it would be very cool to have as a recent ...

RE: is west-civ working on a new game?

<t> That is good news. I hope they add the detailed battle capability, better battle maps, and allow naval battles in detailed format. This is seen as shortcomings with current in the eyes of many and I hope they would take this to heart.<br/>

RE: Naval Movement

Silly me!

It was "Advanced Supply." The fleets will not operate because of the starting supply problem for the North. Eventually they will but not initially.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

<t> I am starting a new game after winning my first campaign. I really enjoy the game.<br/>

<t> Two simple requests -- <br/>
<br/>
1. I would like to see more roads and towns in detailed combat to make the battles somewhat historically correct. Maybe option buttons?<br/>

2. May not happen but it would be very cool if we had detailed combat in naval engagements.<br/>
