RE: 8.403

<t> Perhaps one more dumb question....<br/>
<br/>
I've been away from SPWaW for a while (at least on the home machine) and just upgraded with the 8.403 patch. Unfortunately, I just saw in the notes that a 8.402 patch was also released.<br/>
<br/>
My question: Did I screw up by not patching with ...

RE: Early War Marine Tactics Lesson Wanted!

<t> Hello KG,<br/>
<br/>
I've been off the forum a while with work and my new walking excercise program...10,000 steps/day thing. On the gaming front, I purchased a copy of "No Surrender-Battle of the Bulge," by kudosoft. Certainly something new for me anyway....but I always come back to SPWaW. In ...

RE: Early War Marine Tactics Lesson Wanted!

<t> While I'm sure it's well-known in the Pacific community, keeping your Marines with your armor and your armor with Marines at all times is something that any player of Pacific scenarios soon learns to stick to....no matter tempting it is to send your tanks to the VH or on sweeping arcs using the ...

RE: Second Korean Series About to Begin

<t> Just finished "The Wolfhounds" for the second time. What a great scenario. This time I played a more defensive posture and set up a number of crossfire kill zones and let them come to me. I used the WP to keep the NK away from firing range as often as I could. I also used smoke grenades to ...

RE: New Series finally on the Way

<t> Hello Wild Bill,<br/>
<br/>
I just finished with "Sacrifical Lambs," the second of the new Korea-1950 series. What a ride!<br/>
<br/>
I particularly liked the fact that it definitely hits you with the frustration of poor bazookas, etc. that don't work very well against T-34s. The NK ...

<t> Gremlins perhaps?<br/>
<br/>
I decided to give it another try. And lo and behold, I fired it up from scratch, checked the switches, and loaded the tutorial. No hexes. Exited the scenario and loaded Coral Sea, no hexes. Loaded up 42A and no hexes. Maybe getting out of the game entirely, cleared ...

RE: Hexes show on some parts and not others

Sounds plausable. Possible corrective action - reload bitmaps? If so, so I need to uninstall and reinstall the game just to be sure? Or just the bitmaps?

RE: Hexes show on some parts and not others

<t> Hexes are showing up on land and sea. In one ocean area it is like an invisible line has cut through the hexes in nice vertical straight line.<br/>
<br/>
I don't recall downloading Andrew's maps. I also have not renamed any files. I play pretty much stock.<br/>

Hexes show on some parts and not others

<t> Just downloaded and installed 1.50 with no problems.<br/>
<br/>
I fired up a saved game of 42A and discovered that the map had hexes in some parts and no hexes on ther parts of the map. I exited and went back to make sure the preferences of NO Hex sides and NO hex details switches were set to ...

Just bought WaW, what patches do I need?

<t> To anyone that can help,<br/>
<br/>
I found GGWaW at my local CompUSA yesterday and picked up a copy for the desktop and one for my laptop. While I spend most of my time with SPWaW and WiTP, I want to see what WaW is about.<br/>

Martin Blumenson Dies at Age 86

<t> All,<br/>
<br/>
Saw the obit tonight announcing that Martin Bluemenson died last Friday at his home in Washington, D.C. Many of us of a certain age probably read many of his books. He is probably best known for his series of books on Patton. The obit says that he published 19 books between ...

RE: Old Tutorial #9 - Cave Busting?

Thanks. File downloaded and re-inserted into slot 009. I had to renumber the current 009 scenario to 348. And it still works!
