RE: F4F-3 or F4F-4 - which is best?

<t> Big B hits the nail on the head with his references and data comparisons between the F4F-3 and 4 models, and kudos to everyone else, as this thread very much covers the aspects of the Wildcat. I just wanted to add that the FM-2 was a specific adaptation of the Wildcat for use on CVLs, as the ...

RE: refueling ships at sea?

The other kicker is that it doesn't seem to care how many TGs are stacked up the AO TG will refuel them all. I'm not sure of the minimum speed requirements, but 5 knots does work and the Hot Key "A" doesn't seem to effect the process.

RE: refueling ships at sea?

I'm not certain of the exact criteria, but it adds to the fuel gauge slowly (hour by hour) if you make the TGs escort each other at 5kts.

RE: refueling ships at sea?

<t> I'm not sure exactly were I read it, hopefully it wasn't in WiTP manual, bit it seemed that you had to be going slow(5kts)and pulled up with an AO. In the Eastern Solomons scenario CV7/Wasp's TG has only 5 day of fuel and is set to Escort the oiler TG. In section 20.1 Default Hotkeys "A" Arm ...

RE: Screen blackout problem (version 8.3)

I agree with Jess' concept. Great games don't have to be mammoths. Slow, steady, and cautious takes the city if you watch the game turns. I long time ago I started working on a mini N. African series. This kind of motivates me now to work on it some more.

RE: Screen blackout problem (version 8.3)

<t> Ya I know. I can add a couple more operating systems and CPUs to your list that have never had this problem. Since it is intermittant perhaps it is possible that I've never noticed it before on this machine, but one thing for sure I'll be taking notes here on out on this problem and writing back ...

I have actually printed out several SPWAW manuals at work in the past early in the morning. My weak spot when war gaming is too much Pepsi/Coke!

RE: Screen blackout problem (version 8.3)

<t> To called this screen blackout issue totally a hardware problem is definitely wrong. I know that something has changed and it wasn't my PC. At least I know now not to drop back to Ver8.2. If my memory serves me then the version on the DF disk(8.0?) plus one patch(8.1) I didn't have this problem ...

<t> I have trouble keeping up with some of the spelling of the Japanese ships as well but I believe you got it right or else we are both wrong. The long I keep talking to you guys the more I'm going to have to reach deep and by this darn game and then learn about not having aircraft for my pilots ...

I agree Yes, historically if Ise class weren't being converted and were available in the Solomons, history would be different.

RE: IS it worth buiding extra AV with the Japanese?

I was familiar with the AV designation for a seaplane tender but the CS designation was new to me. However the Chitose and Chiyoda are familar to me as (CVS or CS) I guess, before they were attempted to be completely comvert to carriers.
