RE: Assaulting and Destroying Caves

Of course, you can always smoke and bypass with a squad left as security incase they come out of the cave!

But, yes, they can be very tough to crack, especially if they have long range LOS.

<t> Hi again guys.<br/>
<br/>
Here's my update:<br/>
<br/>
France: 3 more DVs. 39 French and 6 British Pow taken, then off to Yugo land, where we picked up 2 more DVs and a mere 10 PoWs. They didn't wanna surrender.<br/>

Also done the first Soviet Battle. DV again, and this was by far ...

RE: Das Reich Campiagn Posted!

<t> Ok, I'm through Poland with 4 DVs. I liked all the battles, and in the one where you defend, I took 85! prisoners. (123 total, in all 4 games. Yes, I track that, as it's harder, IMO, to take prisoners than to kill units).<br/>
<br/>
So, next up is France. Here's my core after Poland:<br/>

I think that the best solution all around is to edit the VH's so that each hex is worth thousands of points. That way, whoever has taken their objectives wins a decisive victory and you don't need a Ouija board to figure the score. Besides ...

I just started playing Das Reich today, and rather enjoyed the first scenario. The intro's to each scenario are also very enjoyable to read.

Dunno how soon I'l go back to AARing. It's harder doing them real time like I do with a two year old demanding attention all the time. And, by the time she's [>:] then I'm normally to frazzled to focus on AARs. But, that doesn't mean I still don't play! <br/>

RE: Tips/Suggestions for Heroes of the Motherland?

<t> Heroes was the first SP:WaW campaign I played, and I have to admit I metagamed it a little. <br/>
<br/>
What I would do is mass my armor, and move to one of the VH clusters - but I would not take them!<br/>
<br/>
I would then use Infantry to take the center most VH cluster. I would wait for ...

I love Watchtower! In the time I've been away from the forums I've played it all the way through.

Forgot where I put my final score, but it was a DV. A hard earned one, but a DV.

RE: Another MC Game?

Hi guys!

Been a while, but I'm back!

My vote would be a sequel to Lost Victories, or, as others have suggested, a post Stalingrad, Russian Front MC, as the Soviets.

RE: Any alternative solutions for this?

I haven't played with the editor too much, but here's a question. When you make the map larger, do you add deployment flags on the AI side of the map? If not, that would be why they don't deploy into the new areas.

Back to the Desert

<r> Well, I've gotten back into a SP mood, so I restarted Desert Fox. I'm 8 battles in, and I'm gonna give a small synopsis of each, to include a grade for each. There are, of course, IMO, and do contain some spoiler info, so read with caution if you have not played.<br/>

First, MC-SE. I've not gotten my copy yet, but I do plan to. However, as it is a d/l and I have a feeling most people have got it that way, it's probably harder to tell how sales are. I mean, if you burn 1000 CDs, and sell 950 of them, it's easy to tell ...

<t> Personally, I *like* the storyline aspect of LV. I think it was a good idea, and always found it good. If I lose the leaders the storyline talks about, well, then, that's my fault and not the design team. They did a fine job, and anyone who doesn't think so should, IMO, volunteet to be part of a ...

RE: In-turn And end of Turn saves!

<t> Well, I happen to agree with Michael Woods argument. The MCs are supposed to be the toughest campaing challenges in Sp: Waw. Therefore, there should not be an in turn save. I'd like to see it removed all together, as there's really no need for it.<br/>

RE: satchel charges instead of an assault

<t> Often, even when assaulting, units will still use satchel charges if they have them. However, the trick to assaults is the supression level of *your* unit. If it is 10 or below, from what I've seen, they will *always* assault. That makes sense, as an assault is not something a pinned unit can ...
