The subs options was polemical, I apologize. Interservice rivalry would prohibit
such an option in any case.

Look at what happened to Arnold for simply trying to get the B-29 to work.

You forget that subs can lay mines. And they did.

Also PBY and B-29...however I suspect that using a B-29 to lay mines
would grate on High Command.

Its a moot point.

A rationale Japanese pilot rotation policy, even if implemented, still needs
Avgas. The question is...did Japan have enough to train her pilots.
I dont know the answer.

If you allow FOW, I dont see how you can defeat Spain.
If you dont know where is partisan are, you would need to garrison each province. Only the French have that kind of muscle.

That doesnt cover Cossak or Friekorp. Its a can of worms.

I would argue that you could bring Japan to its knees with simply Gato production. If you built enough Gato.

You COULD do that, with minimal impact on the rest of the war.

There are many strategy.
