<t>Yep, I suppose if we want to see a new MC, we most certainly need to prove that's that our favorite DIY game is economically viable for Matrix. That means using that allmighty word of mouth (other wargamer or gamer forums for instance).<br/>

<t>Ha, its funny life and its timing. Went last night to see a talk by the ancient Abraham Lincoln Battalion vet Abe Oserhoff. He talked about a little about his experiences in the later campaigns of 1938 some on his experiences at Belchite. <br/>

<t>I started to design a campaign around the Battle for Madrid in winter 1936-1937 about 4 or 5 months ago but got bogged down for the very same reason as Redleg. All those tweakings especially with the effectiveness of infantry made for big playablity headaches.<br/>

Currently have the AI set at 100 and still manage to kick its butt in random battles a good 90% of the time. It just adds more not really better.<br/>

Like-wise Gallo.

Madrid Campaign is moving as slowly as always. The rapid changes in from the many upgrades has caused hell (especially all the infantry tinkering) with my play balance so trying to work that out. I dunno if things go well it could be out in a couple of weeks. Maybe.

<t>Yeah it looks a little tough but I think its doable. The trick is as always play balance -- making it challenging without making it impossible. I'm assuming that the Soviets will go in a little beat up so won't design something that will utterly clobber a clear-thinking player.<br/>

Why not just use a custom map -- there are plenty very fine jungle and pacific theater maps out there? Personally, I never much cared for the random maps myself.

Yep,
Definitely historically accurate, probably wasn't too infrequent. If we really wanted to be accurate we'd problem have more so-called friendly fire episodes in the game. Not much fun though.
