RE: No meeting engagements in 8.4?!

<t> I'm about 15 battles into a british Campaign and had a meeting engagement. It said advance, but it happened to be advance for the Germans also. I'm in North Africa late 41, early 42, I don't remember exactly for the meeting engagement. I'm assaulting the Italians now, so the engagement was 2 ...

RE: Help - Weapons Encyclopedia

<t> It would be nice if there was a SPWaW Wiki (think wikipedia). The whole encyclopedia from the game could be translated and expanded. You could have tactics sections and historical articles. You could have reviews of actual combat units and their advantages/disadvanatges. It's a little work, but ...

<t> With the advent of Modswapper, is it too difficult to include 2 sets of OOBS? One with pure performance-based pricing and the other with availability-based pricing, while leaving all other stats the same? Sounds like alot of initial work, but it may be the ideal compromise.<br/>

RE: Problem With Video Corruption

<t> This happened to me with a Radeon 8500 card. It might be a Catalyst driver issue. Do you have the latest? It's sad to say, but some of the high end graphics cards have their drivers overtuned for 3d at the expense of 2d. You could always turn down your color depth on your desktop a notch and see ...

RE: Tank Suppression

Whenever I have had a dismounted crew get back into a vehicle, it's always immobilized. Often the main gun is toast also. Unless the MG's are tactically significant in it's little puddle of visibility, I just jump back out.

RE: Hi all, and some suggestions about GRAPHICS

<t> I don't know about the shadows, but I seem to remember the infantry change a few versions ago. I think the reasoning was that it is hard to tell exactly how many men are left in an enemies squad, so the graphics were changed so as to be more realistic. If memory serves, it's part of the "fog of ...

RE: Strange video glitch in 8.2.

<t> This happens to me when a background application tries to do something like show a dialog box or tell you you have email or something. It tries to redraw the screen but SPWaW immediately retakes control of the video. Unfortunately it seems that it doesn't refresh the video memory until you do ...

RE: Unit Encyclopedia update: looking for volunteers

<t> So, should we do the whole process? Build the txt file, give it an enc name and then add it to the oob? Or should we just make one file with seperated txt sections and then submit them to a central organizer who can copy and paste them into individual enc files and then link them to the oobs ...

RE: Unit Encyclopedia update: looking for volunteers

I have some WWII aircraft references, I wouldn't mind filling any holes in the encyclopedia as far as aircraft go. I wish I had more info to do other categories, but that's really all I have immediate access too. Let me know what you need and I'll see if I can whip some up.

RE: Can not download 8.2 HELP!

<t> I have to agree with Mchart, many have downloaded it fine. Also, if you compare SPWaW and SPWW2, SPWaW weighs in at over 400 MB while SPWW2 is merely 85 MB. A 400MG download can easily be interrupted, especially if you have any spyware, adware or virii on your PC. A download helper will go a ...

RE: still wrong uniform colours please help

<t> I've seen this happen also, but in 8.1. Haven't played 8.2 enough yet. It's not a PC hardware issue. The full strength icon for the infantry reflects the proper terrain, but as soon as the unit takes a casualty and the icon is replaced with one with fewer men, it seems to switch to the icons of ...

RE: Japanese Forces advice.

<t> Oooh, I almost forgot about those flame tanks. Or maybe I blocked it out when I was on the recieving end one time. When I played the campaign as the Japanese I made a conscious effort to limit myself to a section of those, for one to be realistic and for two, I didn't want it to be too easy. If ...
