RE: White screen of death...

Yep, driver upgrade on the way.

As for the memory, that's just typical windows lying right at you. There's 512M in it all right.

RE: White screen of death...

Well blow me down--after being hung for ten minutes, it's come back with an error '1024x768 not supported'

This is ridiculous; it's the most common screen resolution in the known world.

So what is the issue here?

Leadership Model

<t> I've just reread Shelby Foote's excellent history, and it strikes me the leadership model seems a little oversimplified. I've also been poking around with the old 'Sumter to Appomattox' game, which seems to have been the first serious attempt to tackle this in a game.<br/>

But following the GPW thread, it looks like it's PBEM only since the AI can't deal with it.

So what is the real skinny?

game locks up...

Anyone had trouble with lock-ups in WPO? Anyone know what might be causing it?

System is W98SE, which OK, is old and ancient, but is supposed to be supported.

Tutorial Scenario

Hi,

I've just purchased WPO and I'm looking for the tutorial mentioned in the manual--not in the download or the CD (which is the download :-)

So--where's it at???

RE: Reaction Range?

<t> It's pretty weird all round. In a campaign I just completed, I had three air combat TFs--1, 6 and 8. This is too many, I know, but I tried disbanding TF8 and Allied TFs raided the port the very next turn and blew the shit out of it..so I reassembled it with what was left plus reserves, and sent ...

Does pacwared21.xls still work with the 3.2 version? Is there a working editor around somewhere if not?

<t> For me it's the enormous satisfaction when the plan comes together, you bounce the enemy TF, get critical hits and send key units to the bottom. Or it's the horror when things go dreadfully wrong, leaving you to figure out how the hell to sort out the mess...<br/>

<t> I'm seeing the same thing in DOSBOX but not running PAC directly under windows. Unfortunately, in the latter situation I'm seeing the Out of Memory problem, so I'd rather get dosbox to work nicely. Haven't found a way to fix it yet, though.<br/>
