For the nostalgia alone, I am still a big fan of the Steve Jackson "Ogre" and "GEV" serires. fast and fun. Good sci fi.

manual

Is there a site where just the manual's pdf file can be found. I don't need to reinstall adobe - and to do so would involve considerable problems. - just need the big ol' pdf.

Printed Manual

<r>I am sure I am not alone in this - Where is the .pdf file on the UV CD for the manual? I don't need and (could not install if I wanted to) Adobe 5.0.5. This isn't my machine. All I want is the pdf file so that I can print it out on the machine with the fast printer. Making a copy of a several ...

I think Malta will be great. Getting warmer. Still think this system's chance to shine will be in the northern sahara. Could be expanded to the Arab-Isr. wars too.

<r>You hit the nail on the head. Every one I have shown TAO has played it and loved it. It truly sets the standard for computer wargames. Lessons learned: 1) Interface is key - start with that and work backwards to the game engine. For a game to get a following it has got to be accessible. 2 ...

<r>disagree. If realism or accuracy are paramount maybe - but to simply expand TAO3 to allow for several operational pushes - read "the hole front" - would be a blast to <I><s></s>play<e></e></I>. I think that is the point afterall. Wouldn't you like to start from scratch and fight the entire ...

<t>Vis, true, we didn't leave much of the spear head behind - the allies were the liberators - we moved our CP forward along with our supply chain - which still put a lot of people in the rear. Compare that to the Russian front - where the germans were constantly trying to either eliminate pockets ...

EOWP and a few other suggestions

<t>I posted a similar message on BL, but I think it's more appropriate to this forum.<br/>
As to EOWP, if we cannot add NPCs or expand the map to eliminate the problem, a solution might lie in the administrative problems that come with winning new ground: Garrisons. (I know how dull) - But newly ...

alright OB, I will. You're right - no plan survives contact with the enemy. I am a big fan of not having to find someone to play. Get in, get out - no committment. G*3

<t>Thanks Old Bill, I think I have the basics down, but not much more. if you ignore the center (bastonge) and head south or can get past the allied defenses in the north - you should be able to win on a regular basis v. AI. Both of these take advantage of the EOWP. Let the Siegfreid Line do its ...

Edge of the World

<t>i just posted a similar thought on the BL forum, but I think it is even more appropriate for KP so I will post it here too: I have slowly fumed over the "Edge of the World" problem since I started gaming. Too many games seem to run up against the EOWP. <br/>
Here's a solution based on first ...

TAO2 Comparison

I belive I read that Korsun Pocket will be based on the frame set up for TAO3. As the latest iteration, what improvements will we see in the KP or TAO3 systems over TAO2?

I checked it with another non-DAP system with exzactly the same set up and it worked fine. Ergo, it's the DAP. I have it now and I hope this helps others. :D
