Re: How 1941 Day of Infamy compares to our WWII: World at War game

Extra campaigns are a lot of work and most people just play the main one, so it felt best to concentrate on that, and possibly create some others at a later date - particularly as we have also been collecting feedback as to what potential campaigns people might want to see if we are to produce a DL...

RE: Tiller game called Wolfpack

<t> Wolfpack is a bit deeper than the sub rules in Midway. If you look in the manual that's on the game's webpage, you'll see a section on Enhanced Submarine Rules (page 43). There's a whole bunch of important stuff in there, including submarine batteries, inhibiting fire and periscopes and special ...

RE: Tiller game called Wolfpack

Just wanted to let people know that I'll be putting an AAR up over at Grogheads. It'll take a bit, I'm kinda busy, heh.

Question about PzC:AK and DLC

<t> Can you go from Afrika Korps into the 42-43W DLC with the core units from AK? Or are they two different things? (I know you can import from your '41 DLC)<br/> <br/> I have a friend trying to decide what to use with a Gift Certificate, and I couldn't answer the question (as I'm slowly working thr...

RE: Beta Patch Registration Error

I just got this error in trying to reinstall the game and patch. What does anyone know about it? (and, I'm not real happy with the idea of having to mess with my reg files) Will the game work still?

There's also a Korea game in the HPS Squad Battles series, so if tactical is your thing, that's a possibility.

<t> Honestly... whether the Ubi problems were Hackers or more benign system side issues, that's immaterial. The simple fact is that those problems directly kept legitimate customers from playing the games while the servers were down.<br/> <br/> It doesn't make difference if it was external malice, o...

RE: Sid Meier Discusses Game Design and Psychology

<t> I'd want to give a fair bit of thought to all of this. Of course, one truism is that not all gamers are created equal. Someone who lives for a player vs player online FPS has a very different view of "risk vs reward" than someone who is playing SimCity after all. <br/> <br/> An interesting idea ...

RE: HPS new games

<t> All of the US Float planes are available. They're in some .oob files, and otherwise, can be added to custom oobs. (I'd not suggest messing with the stock oobs, as that could toast any scenario that uses those files).<br/> <br/> <br/> Why aren't they in the game? As I mention in the designers not...

RE: HPS new games

Aside from clouds, as I said in the designer's notes, the other big risk in searching is if you allocate too few planes to too much arc. You can literally get "dead zones" between aircraft as their arcs separate. I never did figure out a good rule of thumb for that *L*

<t> To go back to the first post.
