Seba - a great site! You have choice photos and a simple, but sharp layout.

I would be happy to do any re-wording or proof-reading of any english texts that you send to me.

<t>Thank you, Dedas. That is actually one of my favorite quotes, and the only thing out of Stalin's mouth I'll ever quote. I thought it was supposed to be "twenty million deaths", but suppose I got that wrong.<br/>

Aside from the trannie strain, I think the lack of sloping armor is what prevents it from being the end-all, be-all in the Eastern theatre. It still reigns as king for the majority of it's presence, but what it could have been... carumba!

Scenario Design - VP Balance discussion

<t>There was a thread on this a while back, but I wanted to start it up again and start speaking particulars for suggestions on VP balance and considerations when constructing scenarios. I am fairly new to SPWaW scenario design and am concerned with creating proper balances within scenarios in ...

Good points, Paul. Not only words matter, but also tone and attitude.

We, the faithful, are deeply interested in CL. You need to be assured of that, Matrix. And please don't allow some postings to blunt your enthusiasm for the projects.

<t>I would say the same thing would happen if you said that to a Chinese person. There is no love lost between those nations. I am surprised there are many Chinese in Japan. Maybe Communist China is so bad that they would rather deal with the cultural friction - I don't know.<br/>

Did tests even with the MkIII's. Again, no dice. Therefore it was FOG O' WAR that clouded my vision. :-)

<t>Well, I did plenty of tests with both uninjured and injured (loss of men) crews. No dice. Different vehicles and types (tanks, SPmortar, trucks). Got no one to recrew.<br/>

However, I could have *sworn* I initially got two MkIII crews to swap. I am going to fart around I double check that ...

now I don't know about that. I got two crews from a MkIII section to swap, so they were in the same vehicle-type. I'll have to try the other way.

<t>Didn't know all that, but I wouldn't think there is a nation anywhere that is totally homogenous. But there is that aspect that you are looking at basically east asians minorities there. While that is not Japanese, it is nowhere like having large numbers of Europeans, Africans, South Americans ...

just put them back in the hex with the vehicle. they have to survive all enemy fire, of course, and the AI can go OFF on enemy crews. I've also had crews from other blown vehicles come and take command of another vehicle, so that can be done.

<t>I consider it very interesting how people "think" according to their native language. It becomes quite difficult to 'think' in terms of a secondary language. But some people have that knack and it's great.<br/>

<t>oh - one question (it might be covered in the scenario designers guide, but since we're on this subject): does the AI always respond best in Defend/Delay mode? Or can you also use the Advance/Assault mode and get good results? I seem to remember in SP1 that it was best to use AI Defend or Delay ...

<t>That means it is set at meeting engagement, which is the default setting when you start editing a battle. <t>Ok, thanks. I went back and checked through some of your scenarios and was confused, but now I know what you are saying. Essentially, if the AI is in Defend mode, I need to set a reaction time and waypoints for a platoon if I want it to move; otherwise it'll just sit there until engaging the ...

Wait, what are you saying, WB - that I should set all formations to computer control for the AI force (that is, in the Headquarters Screen)? That can't be what you are saying..
