RE: I gotta admit, I find it amusing the back-n-forth

<t> Thanks for the response. As a gamer who started with Tactics II, and who has attempted to play Campaign for North Africa, your comparisons struck a chord. I remember owning three games back in my boardgaming days that I never came close to finishing, War in Europe, War in the Pacific, and CFNA ...

RE: I gotta admit, I find it amusing the back-n-forth

As one who is trying to decide whether to buy, I have been completely confused by the love-hate relationship the board has with this game. Should I wait for the next patch to decide?

RE: Steel Panthers: World At War General's Edition is Now Available!

I would love to have this to update my old 5.0 Megacampaign and get the rest, but download is not an option (56k). Earlier posts have indicated CD shipment to be unreliable. Is this still a problem? I can't spend the $$ if I'm not going to get a quick CD in the mail.

<t>I think Mogami is on the right track. I think the fuel limit should a function of the storage capacity at Truk and realistic resupply rates rather than a total limit on the amount of fuel that can be used in the game. I don't think those limitations would be a major issue for the Japanese player ...

I think a lot depends on how many MCs Matrix is planning. If we only have one more East Front MC, I think it should be Kursk from the Soviet side. If there are going to be several, by all means do Stalingrad, either side is fine.

I got all 3 Megacampaigns in last week and SPWAW 7.0 with them. I've been lurking on the forum and learning the game system. About to dive into the desert.

<t>I wanted the latest version without the download, so I ordered Watchtower. I saw Desert Fox was about to sell out, so I ordered it. By that time, I decided I might as well get Lost Victories. Restraint has never been a strong point...<br/>
I suspect I'll be asking some very dumb questions late ...

I also have a slow modem and probably could not handle such a download. Mark another vote for a CD.

<t>I am a refugee from Talonsoft games. Since Talonsoft was conquered by the Borg, the only good games I have found are the Panzer Campaigns at HPS. Now I have stumbled on this site and see some great names from my wargaming past.<br/>
At this price, it has to be right to try a Megacampaign. Which ...
