RE: Admiral's Edition Air War Thread

This is certainly not a major issue:

Is the P-36A Mohawk supposed to be listed as a Float Fighter?

The "Amphibian" box is checked for it in slot 328 in the Aircraft database in all the official scenarios except Guadalcanal.

I use automatic convoys a lot. I set up small 1 or 2 ship CS:xxx convoys. If a base needs more supply I set up another small convoy that will arrive between existing convoys rather than making 1 big convoy. This work well in the rear areas and ...

I do it all the time.

Set the TF to "computer controlled" first. Then set the destination.

The order of these steps makes a difference from Brisbane, Noumeau and Truk.

<t>There should be a distinction between "normal" loading, for supply runs, and "combat" loading, for amphibious assaults. Combat loading was very inefficient but let units unload in the proper order as well not putting all of a vital item, such as the artillery ammunition, on one ship.<br/>

Could the game be using the transports at PH to keep Noumea and Brisbane supplied?

Just a thought.

<t>Saratoga's air group was also left in the theater after her torpedoing. They sat at Noumea until November when the Allies got really serious about finding more resources for Guadalcanal. I haven't looked for it but I would be unsurprised to find that the aircraft from Hornet and Wasp were also ...

<t>Its really a little academic right now. The Yorktown had 70 sys damage and 72 flt damage. She can only do 9 knots max (downhill, with a tailwind) and although the flt damage was repaired at Cairns she is still limping back to Noumea with 70 sys damage (with a stop in Brisbane). Too bad I can't ...

Doesn't 'CVE' actually stand for 'Combustible, Vulnerable, Expendable'?

Especially if you're the one standing on it with an attack inbound.

<t>One problem may be that the B-17E's range may be too long. The B-17E lacked the auxiliary fuel cells in the outer wings that were added early in the B-17F productions run. All subsequent B-17F and G aircraft had them. These added roughly 1000 US gallons to the fuel capacity. <br/>
