Re: What to do about Virtus

Thanks for the advice. It helps.

It turns out I had been looking at an older version of the manual in which virtus wasn't mentioned. I've started a new game (after reading the section on virtus) and I think I'm beginning to understand the process a bit better in this playthrough.:)

What to do about Virtus

I'm struggling to deal with falling virtus. It seems that no matter what I do, it keeps falling. Even when I make decisions that say it should improve virtus, it still drops.

On the material side, the only thing I've noticed is a lack of recruits. I've set governor orders for 500 per turn but I'm ...

Re: File not found

Never mind. I had to create a 'Custom Files' folder myself. Why on earth couldn't this folder be created during installation?
It would have saved me much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

File not found

I've been trying to tinker with the Expanded Battles scenario editor and I've been left completely bamboozled by the whole system.

The problem arises when I decide to save my progress. I click on 'save scenario' and always get 'File Not Found'. Of course it's not found, I'm trying to create it ...

Re: WWII Naval game

There's an old thread here from 2009 for the original game. I bought it but couldn't make much headway with it so gave up.

Re: Groundpounders scenario

Yes. That's roughly what I have found. I never once got the special actions option but my subs always reached the firing point before 2300 so that's probably why. I've run it three times now and once it reaches 2300 Zulu, I automatically get a window telling me I've received the recce data. If only ...

Re: Groundpounders scenario

I'm beginning to wonder if it's a bug.
This is the message window telling me the subs are in position.

Groundpounders scenario

I'm playing through the Groundpounders scenario from the Silent Service DLC. I have my two subs in position (and have had pop ups confiriming this) and now I'm supposed to request recce data for the planned TLAM strike. I thought that I'd seen instructions for this telling me to use the 'special ...

I agree 100%
I'm finding learning this game to be a very good way of also learning the many nuances of modern warfare and its related technologies.

Re: A question on loadouts

An update on this scenario I'm making.

I decided to add mid air refuelling but just couldn't get it to work. Nikel's post on P8 database issues with the sonobuoys gave me the idea of checking the database again. It turns out that both versions of RAF P8s are down as using boom refuelling but the ...

Re: A question on loadouts

Scenario file attached. I've set it up so all you need to do is select the P8 and run the scenario. You should see the no channel available notice in red as it transits the search area.

As far as I can gather a channel is actually a radio frequency used to communicate with the sonobuoy, so it looks ...

Re: A question on loadouts

Thanks for the suggestion.
It appears that I'm on the latest DB but I upgraded the scenario to the latest DB just to be sure.

I've made a little progress. I can now see the sonobuoys in the available loudouts screen. I had to manually add them to the airfield magazines to get this. Now I can load ...

A question on loadouts

I've recently purchased Command and I've always found a good way to learn a game like this is to tinker around with the scenario editor even though I'm not a creator of scenarios. Being a Brit, I wanted to use one of our new upcoming Type 26 frigates to hunt a Russian sub. I was able to add the ...

Re: User made historic scenarios?

As it is just now RTW3 generates battles based on the strategic situation within the game so I'm not aware of any possibility to create historic scenarios as it stands right now. There is an expansion coming and it has the ability to create the type of battles you are looking for. If you can't wait ...

Re: this game is so bad.

Your thread title is extremely misleading. There is a separate area on the forum for technical issues.
You can change the resolution to mimic your desktop resolution from within the game preferences. Start a new game and then go to the graphics and resolution section of the preferences menu and you ...

Re: Successful roll but failed

I am neither a military expert or experienced in Logistics but I find SE playable.
I rely heavily on the chokepoints indicators and just try to make sure all routes are green.
I've noticed since the last patch that if you do a bit of fighting, the chokepoint colour will change to show lack or no ...

Upheaval choices

When a country gets a choice of whether or not to send a force to a place in upheaval, there are options in the window to view almanac or view relations. I like to play Japan but I am not familar with many of the place names and I like to know where a place is more than if an intervention will upset ...

South Korea bug?

Playing as Japan from 1890 and currently at 1903.
A number of times since the start of this campaign, I have been asked if I want to send a force to South Korea and each time, I have said yes. Nothing happens. I get no message saying I have failed in the endeavour and no message to say that I have ...
