RE: Container Movement Rates

Well then, I'm a total FoF movement imbecile, but eric has applied the cure to my condition.

Thank you sir, may I have another? [&o]

RE: Bug - PBEM end of turn

This one really hurts, because it just totally destroys the fog-of-war element in pbem. [:(]

RE: demoting generals

<t> Along f15eagles line of thought, during the war the demotion of an army commander was not a decision that was made simply because some flashy new guy showed up, the general in charge had to have suffered a defeat or setback to justify the removal from command, and even then McCellan had ...

RE: Container Movement Rates

<t> Gil, as I understand it, force-marching only increases the chance that the container unit will succeed in the ordered movement, I don't believe that it increases the distance the unit is capable of moving.<br/>

RE: Container Movement Rates

<t> pzpat, read the rest of the thread and you'd see that the true intent of the change is not to imply that the command staffs of the seperate groups would move at different rates, but that an organization of 5 brigades (division)&nbsp;could get off the dime faster and over a 2 week period be ...

RE: Container Movement Rates

<t> Thanks Gil, will do.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Chris, I was hoping to hear from you on this issue.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
The way it's structured now, the movement rates are Army:1, Corps:2, Divisions:3. (not sure about individual brigades)<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Interestingly, that setup by default limits the ...

<t> Whew, after a solid week of getting my butt kicked by family and work obligations, I've finally gotten a FoF container-move-mod (FoFcmm) pbem game underway with f15Eagle.<br/>

Eric, wow, thanks again! I'll keep you informed.

Erik, that is one of the virtues I struggle most with. I will now go hold hot coals in my bare hands in penance.

Cheers,
Mike

RE: white image in the presentation screen

<t> Maulet, <br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Did you rename the "movies" folder in the FoF directory to "nomovies" to save processing resources? <br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
That's the exact screen I get when I use "nomovies", and it works fine if I rename back to "movies".<br/>

<t> I would suggest that the out-of-sync pbem replay issue is of nearly equivalent importance, if not more so.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Although the game is primarily played single player, this system really shines in a pbem game, with a human opponents unpredictability and ingenuity.<br/>

<t> Thanks Gil, although we've gotten no answer to that question just yet.<br/>

RE: Container Movement Rates

<t> Misere, good points and a very interesting train of thought.<br/>
<br/>
My understanding is that every move by every container is influenced by the Init rating of it's commander, or the Command Staff rating of the container itself.<br/>
<br/>
With that in mind, let's consider the positive ...

RE: Container Movement Rates

Thanks for the reply Gil, and I apologize for not posting in the original thread.
&nbsp;
What's your feeling concerning the movement rates overall,&nbsp;beyond restricting certain size armies within a set radius of the capitals?
