My War in the Pacific (Original game)

....Runs very slowly...like mud. It takes about 5 or 6 seconds to scroll the screen using the mouse or the arrows? OS is Windows 10 and I have no idea how to fix this? Has anyone else experienced this?

Really Struggling

<t> Have read the manual, looked at the newbies videos, and I still can't figure out how to load infantry on a ship. If I were to put what I think the sequence to do so was in steps, they would be:<br/>
<br/>
1. Create a TF<br/>
2. (maybe or not) "DOCK it" in port for faster loading<br/>
3 ...

RE: Useful Info for Beginners

<t> Another dumb question. I downloaded a few of those short scenarios recommended for newbies. However, though I am used to using such new scenarios, and always unzipped them to the SCEN or Scenario folders of whatever games, the SCEN folder in the main Matrix folder looks different. There are no ...

RE: newbie tutorial

<t> Back again so soon...well this is a big kick in the head. Believe I followed the above instructions for the Newbie tutorial as best as I could for my first post AI to AI game. I guess you all who found this tutorial helpful did a lot better than I. After TURN one the Lexington is GONE and all ...

RE: newbie tutorial

<t> I see that all the earlier people apparently found this clear seeing their nice compliments, however, I am a little confused. I found the CAP box OK for the Lexington, and set it as you said. The other TF (Yorktown) is way down in Noumea at start. I guess you meant to do the same thing with CAP ...

RE: Loading troops

<t> I am a NEWBIE to WitPAE. Very much a newbie. I have looked over the various posts here and am still confused about loading and transporting troops.<br/>
<br/>
First I was confused by NOT being able to see any entries in a ship's dialog box that specifically indicated or listed "Cargo Capacity ...

RE: War in the Pacific Admiral Edition is Updated to V1.01.24

<t> Well I am lost. Just bought the game downloaded it before the disc came in the mail. Installed it a week ago and then noticed the "check for updates" that shows one the opening screen. Updated it and now there is a screen rez problem and some of the menu choices are off the screen. Also this ...

Battle of Britain II

<t> A big disappointment...baffling. Can't handle the learning curve. Seems a big waste of money. Fortunately it only cost 20 bucks....very disappointed. Games, especially a grand campaign, should not be so difficult to understand not to mention a flight sim with controls that you have to go through ...

RE: Help! Game won't save ("ERROR unable to save into slot")

<t> I thought it was the DOWNLOAD too...but I also bought the disk. So one thing I tried was to uninstall the digital download and the reinstall the game with the disk....and the save directory was still not there. So the problem apparently is related to the "image" of both the download and the DVD ...

RE: Help! Game won't save ("ERROR unable to save into slot")

<t> Thank you JW...the screen size issue is good to know for when I finally get a new computer. Now that I can "save" I will be learning to play the game. For those that do have older comptuers I would repeat that I am running and 8 year old custom-built machine with one 2.53 GHZ Intel p4 processor ...

RE: Help! Game won't save ("ERROR unable to save into slot")

<t> This worked. Thank you. Was just so frustrating and so simple a fix...making one's own save file. I always worry about changing any shipped file structure thinking I will make something worse and compromise the game..I should have realized that if I did screw it up I could have just uninstalled ...

Re: FINALLY SUCCESS

<t> The response to try CREATING your own "SAVE" directory in the "Dat" folder WORKED! <br/>
<br/>
So I see, Frooples, that you did the same thing. Five patches and the fix is just making one's own save file. I guess all is well that ends well and perhaps I over-reacted but it sure was frustrating ...

<t> Don't know where to turn. Posted a request for information about why I can't save a game in Grisby's WAW and received a note from rjh1971 that I didn't read some "sticky" on the support forum. I followed the link given to me and read a half dozen posts about having to delete old saves or there ...

<r> I just received an email from rjh1971 in response to my inquiry about not being able to save a file...and I have attached a screenshot to show that I DON'T HAVE A SAVE FILE IN THE DEFAULT GAME FILE...is it up TO ME edit that directory and try to ADD A SAVE in the data file....seems to me the ...

Re: Not Happy

<t> Just bought the game. Tried to save. Got an error. Checked the manual. No help. Is there some "trick" to saving a game...some special syntax like no caps or no spaces or a limit on length of "save name?"<br/>
<br/>
This is pretty frustrating when the game has had a whole host of patches and ...

Anyone ever heard of a game called PT Boats: Knights of the Sea

<t> I was looking for photos of WWII Coastal Craft and came across a 2003 trailer for a game entitled PT Boats: Knights of the Sea proposed or under development by SubSim? Does anyone know if this simulation was ever actually published? and if so, if it was any good?<br/>

Thanks,<br/>

Looking for Maj. Mike Mundell

<t> Mike. I sent you a gift of some board games to Fallujah back before Xmas 06 but I have lost your eBay handle and your email address if I ever had one for you. I remember you saying that you played Matrix games. Just wondering how you are and if you are back from Iraq and safe and sound. I still ...
