RE: $#@%&^ Serial Numbers

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>You really cant blame Matrix for your own inability to hold on to important information. If you threw away the paper that had the serial number, AFTER you used the serial number off of it (so you KNEW it was there) then you can only blame yourself. <br/>

RE: $#@%&^ Serial Numbers

<t> I purchased my copy from EB. Now that I have a new computer, I tried to install the game from the CD that I had stored in a notebook of CDs. The install message says the serial number is on the CD. Unfortunately, there is no serial number on the CD. I tossed the original box and CD envelope long ...

<t>I hear you. Waiting is a pain, especially when I haven't even had the opportunity to play the game. Overnight is something I do... but that's more difficult over a single night with four moderately large files.<br/>

<t>You are certainly correct about hosting their own updates. I do appreciate that.<br/>

I read quite a few posts about "True" Update and never saw anyone saying that the problem originated in using a 56k modem. Why would Matrix depend on something that restricted to update Uncommon Valor? I ...

Yes, that's what I'm doing. I know the game itself will be great. I'm just off to a rocky start trying to work around their untrue update so I can begin. Plus, anyone would be grouchy connecting to Matrix on a 56k modem (downloading at a blistering 2.5kb per second).

Untrue Update

<t>"True Update" needs to be renamed. How about "Untrue Update"? It's difficult to have any confidence in a company that produces an update program that fails. <br/>

Now I have to download four files off of a slowwwwwww Matrix server that chokes more than the K-State baseball team.<br/>

Untrue Update

I just purchased UC and tried to update using True [cough] Update. Error downloading file #99 Line 2." Huh?

Matrix, please rename the program to "Untrue Update" ok? Not a good way to start a relationship with a program. True not.
