RE: Russian Steel!

It certainly is a great campaign.

darroch (or close to it) was his forum name.
Haven't seen him in quite a while.

RE: Broken treads in Stalingrad Campaign 8.2

Thanks Hunpecked.
I found the three scenarios in the zip, but I they are from 2002 (while the 8.2 files are from 2003) and I belive that the Stalingrad Campaign was revised for 8.2.

I'll play through the scenarios though and see if they match BryanMelvins description.

Broken treads in Stalingrad Campaign 8.2

<t> Hi.<br/>
<br/>
I started playing the revised campaign a while ago and ran into problems after battle twelve. It seems that the campaign thread are broken on three places.<br/>
After battles (node number) 17, 22 and 25 you are moved to nodes 28, 27 and 26. There are no such battle files (txt ...

RE: Norway Invasion Campaign

<t> Just wanted to add that I played through the Norway campaign (Operation Weserubung) with 8.2 and found it the most fun since Russian Steel! Lots of opportunities for precision strikes with infiltrators, gliders and fallschirmjaegers to knock out the norwegian HQ, coastal guns and tactical ...

No, not in SPWAW directly. But there are a number of freeware screen-capture tools you can download and use.

AI and reinforcement

<t> Just a quick question that I didn't find any answer to in the manual or the forum.<br/>
<br/>
Will the AI in a random (i.e. not scenario or campaign) battle ever request reinforcements?<br/>
<br/>
It would seem not, but in a recent battle some ten new AI tanks appeared halfway to the ...

RE: Will we get Russian steel 1.6 ?

Oh. I confess that I didn't really know if there were changes to be made to the included scenarios in the campaign or not. I just assumed it would.

Anyway, the easiest way to get an answer would be to ask darroch.

RE: Will we get Russian steel 1.6 ?

<t> You are not the only one, be sure of that.<br/>
Having endured the long winters and even harder summers of 41 and 42, I'd quite enjoy taking my revenge on the germans in 43 through 45. But as the campaign is somewhere around 40 battles long it will be a huge undertaking just to upgrade it to 8 ...

RE: SPWAW campaign help

<t> No, this is absolutely correct.<br/>
I belive that there are a 400 unit limit to a battle that the two sides have to share between them. An issue I discovered in a PBEM as a russian assault and 13000 points to spend on a maximum of 300 units. I had to buy elite units only, but even that left me ...

RE: satchel charges instead of an assault

<t> The problem isn't with weapon selecting or choosing between assault or attack. The problem is that engineer somtimes refuse to assault with their flamethrowers and/or satchel charges. Heck, they even refuse to act as engineer and usually only get the 10% chance that their unit size gives, not ...

RE: satchel charges instead of an assault

I've had the same problem with engineers refucing to use their flamethrowers or satchel charges to assault some bunkers, nests or fortifications. I haven't gotten aroud to figure out why though.

Campaign points

<t>I'm about to start a WWII long campaign and was also wondering about it.<br/>
Is the amount of points available to my AI opponent dependant on the points I buy with from the start, or the point value of my core and AUX force in the setup for each individual battle?<br/>

It seems that the ...

Tried Russian Steel?

If you like to get hurt, bossed around and getting your tanks destroyed by german panzers it's spectacular!

I can't get enough.

I agree.
The Russian Steel campaign is very "fun" and "a must" for anyone wanting to play Russia.

It's actually not as hard as the forum led me to belive, but its no walkover, Ill tell you that.
