RE: Fighter sweeps

Perhaps there was an attempt to hard-code "The Legend of Y-29"? Only that it's the Luftwaffe getting the breaks this time? [;)]

PS to HS: Hope it is better soon for you, both health and computer-wise.

RE: Doubts about TOAW

<t> Something I've discovered from this game, in how "equipment" affects a unit's ratings, was seen by choosing a "bookend" view of war periods.<br/>
<br/>
For example, I chose a couple of the WWI scenarios -- the Marne and Tannenburg (both 1914) -- and set both on computer vs. computer (or "Elmer ...

RE: Problem with formation copying.....

Please delete, I realized what was wrong. For some reason, when creating new formations, the default objective track was No. 2 instead of No. 1.

RE: "Opportunity Fire".......

<t> Did some more playing tonight, and I did get some occasions of "interrupt" where one of my mercs would be given a chance to take an op-fire shot during the opponent's phase.<br/>

Further, with my next phase, after taking the interrupt shot during the enemy's prior phase, it seems that ...

RE: "Opportunity Fire".......

<t> Thanks for responding.<br/>
<br/>
Ouch, that's not so good. I considered the op-fire feature in JA2 a fundamental in helping reduce the IGO-UGO edge. If, as you say, a bug causes the AP loss to apply to the next phase, then yeah, it's not very useful.<br/>
<br/>
In honesty, if not rectified ...

"Opportunity Fire".......

<t> Only just playing this last weekend, was a big fan of the earlier JA2.<br/>
<br/>
On that note, I wonder if the "opportunity fire" ability carries over in HG. That is, with a high enough merc level, can a merc with enough AP get a chance to take a shot at an enemy that "pops up" during the ...

Problem with formation copying.........

<t> Among the options in the scenario editor, in the "edit forces" settings, is one for copying a formation.<br/>

When I do this, however, it seems to "invalidate" the scenario. I've an earlier version confirmed as valid through the "view properties" check, but in copying and including the ...

RE: Wanting to resurrect a TOAW2 scenario...

<t> Sending thanks in the mail, but also here to cover the bases.<br/>
<br/>
Yes, it's working now, both the application and editor loaded it up okay. My guess why it wouldn't do so earlier is either that I didn't have my version of TOAW2 (when I still had it) fully updated, or that the scenario ...

RE: Wanting to resurrect a TOAW2 scenario...

That's interesting to note, Colin. However, on the premise that I don't know someone with this non-CD version of ACOW for accessing and installing, might then someone here with ACOW be willing to receive the scenario via e-mail to open and save the scenario in the ACOW editor?

<t> Thanks, that's very useful for reference if I want to start tinkering with the US V Corps scenario in some future date. I'll have to bookmark that site.<br/>

RE: Trey Marshall WW3 scenarios?

<t> I did a revision of Trey's US VII Corps scenario (The Hof Gap region) in the TOAW2 days, and was satisfied with the end result. The map had a lot of rework, some limited rework with the forces, and it was this scenario where I really cut my teeth learning to work with the event editor and ...
